Slayed the boots house down.

These Filipino designers brought out only the best of the best to close their show at BYS Fashion Week.

After two years in the persistent pandemic, live events are officially back in Manila, and for the style obsessed, that means fashion week. Remember that time when everyone had to scrape through every innovation with their shows virtually? Like that one fashion student who launched their collection in the most discreet manner: through the Grindr app. We all had to get the ball rolling at one point, but hey, it only strengthened the ingenuity of fashion.

This year, however, the shows are back. And most recently, BYS Fashion Week proved the ongoing resurgence of style: in a bigger, better format. Hosted in different locations with ambiant sets, and of course, muses who’ve made surprise appearances, you can very well say that it truly was THE main event.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous fashion aside, we’ve listed down some of the most unexpected stars that walked the runway at BYS Fashion Week and left us gagged.

ARCI MUÑOZ FOR KAYE MORALES

When you’ve walked for LA Fashion Week, everything else is easy peasy. Wearing a spray-painted pleated gown, muscle tee, latex boots, and a vampy lip, Arci Muñoz closed Kaye Morales’ punk streetwear show at BYS Fashion Week. This isn’t the first time though, because Arci also walked for her at Manila Fashion Festival in 2019.

Miss Universe Philippines 2021 might just be the definition of glamour at this point, because she’s slowly becoming a favorite muse among fashion designers. Showing off her gazelle-like figure, Celeste walked gracefully in a denim mermaid dress and feathered hat for Just Bonita as the closing look.

THE QUEENS OF DRAG RACE PH FOR KAYE MORALES

Pop off, ate! Just when you thought Kaye Morales was done, she tapped some of the queens of Drag Race Philippines like Marina Summers, Eva Le Queen, and Prince. For Randolf, Minty Fresh was revealed as one of the brand’s muses with her bejeweled beauty look and platinum blonde bob. Just in time for the finale of season one.

NICOLE CORDOVES FOR JUST BONITA AND JAZ CEREZO

This queen walked not just one, but TWO shows at BYS Fashion Week. On the first day, Nicole Cordoves gave us Grecian goddess vibes for Jaz Cerezo, then on the second, it was all about sultriness as she walked in sparkly mesh coordinates, a feathered neckpiece and an exposed chrome thong for Just Bonita.

YASSI PRESSMAN FOR ISSA THE BRAND

Actress and lady boss Yassi Pressman looked regal in a waist-cinching corset and ball skirt fashioned out of multiple scarves designed by her sister, Issa Pressman for her show, ISSA the brand. She was the final puzzle piece in the Time & Space collection, which was very fitting. Marie Antoinette in dark mode, yes? Yes.

NADINE LUSTRE FOR THIAN RODRIGUEZ

When the lights dimmed and the last model walked, everybody thought it was over. Then the spotlight was on as Nadine Lustre took centerstage. Wearing a leather ensemble with silver hardware and a huge fringed ball skirt, Thian Rodriguez’s muse was transformed into The Goth Queen. The beauty look was just as impeccable with her braids that resembled the Popovy Dolls and bleached eyebrows. It was a hair-raising moment, indeed.
