After the successful release of their Japanese single Film Out, BTS surprises the ARMY yet again as their song, Mic Drop (Steve Aoki Remix) was featured in the new Netflix animated film, The Mitchells vs. The Machines.
As we all know by now, BTS wants their songs associated with positivity and inclusivity. In The Mitchells vs. The Machines is a story of Katie Mitchell, an outsider who gets accepted into the film school of her dreams. As a last hurrah, before she leaves home, her nature-loving dad insists that they go on a totally-not-awkward-or-forced family road trip. Katie, her dad Rick, her mom Linda, little brother Aaron, their pug, Monchi, and their two robots find themselves the most unlikely heroes who can save the world against a robot uprising.
The Mitchells vs. The Machines features the voices of Abbi Jacobson, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Mike Rianda, Eric Andre, Olivia Colman, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, Charlyne Yi, Blake Griffin, Conan O’Brien, Doug the Pug, Sasheer Zamata, Elle Mills, Alex Hirsch, and Jay Pharoah.
A self-confessed ARMY, as seen in his tweet, director Michael Rianda is even teases us that there could be more to come.
Now, all we need is a full-length animated film with BTS’ voices in it. This will be easy for the septet since they already dubbed Zootopia, Lion King, and Toy Story in the 109th episode of their variety show, Run BTS.
The Mitchells vs. The Machines will be available to stream on Netflix starting April 30.
