While a new era was coming following her signing with Careless Music in 2022, that all went into overdrive when she dropped her latest YouTube video, This Is Me, on February 26. In no uncertain terms, she laid down how up until recently, she felt her career was one that she had barely any control over. And while she has gone on to express gratitude towards the people who helped her become the star that she is, Liza let it be known that she’s ready to be her own person moving forward.
As one of the country’s top stars, Liza’s vlog felt like a revelation to many as she mapped out the plans for herself. It’s one of the boldest moves the superstar has ever done, and one many of us can learn from. From Liza’s latest career move to being her own person, here are some takeaways to consider.
IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO START SOMETHING NEW
Ever since she was 16, Liza was mostly known as a stunning beauty, matinee idol, and one-half of the LizQuen love team. But years in that persona undoubtedly left Liza feeling like she was in a box. “During all those years, I was never really asked for my input, my thoughts, my ideas,” she shared in the vlog. While Liza could have easily stayed and continued to do what she was known for, she decided that the pandemic offered her the opportunity to follow her heart, try something new, and grow as an artist.
