Kumu’s latest singing competition is on the hunt for the next superstar with the help of the legends themselves, Lea Salonga and Michael Bublé.
One of the great things about social media is that it has helped democratize how people become stars. No longer do you need to travel long distances, wait in long lines to audition, or power through multiple competitions. Now, all you need is just social media profile to help you get your name out there for people to see, that and the requisite talent and charisma, of course. This is something that Kumu knows all too well and the live streaming platform is using it’s unique medium to host a brand new online singing competition that you can join in the comfort of your own home. And the best part is that two of the best singers of their generation, Michael Bublé and Lea Salonga, will serve as special guest judges.
SING FOR THE STARS
The competition, called Sing For The Stars, is an all-digital international online singing competition. In this event, you don’t need to be from a certain part of the world or a certain nationality, all backgrounds are welcome here. With the help of live streaming, singers and would be stars can be discovered just by singing at home and this is what this competition aims to do. Being first of its kind, Kumu’s Sing For The Stars is tapping into the abundance of undiscovered talents, while harnessing the power of social networking to help build communities.
“Kumu is the home of musicians,” says Founder and CEO Roland Ros. “Through this competition, we’re discovering and highlighting new voices on a world stage in a unique and brand new way.” He adds, “For many people, it’s a rare opportunity to get to perform for and learn from global superstars like Michael Bublé and Lea Salonga. Sing for the Stars is the most inclusive talent show ever because talents can audition, perform, and win no matter who or where in the world they are.”
