ICYMI, Billboard Philippines is finally in the country once more. After months of hype and anticipation, Billboard Philippines is now live with the official launch of its first two covers featuring OPM icon Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and P-pop kings SB19. And to welcome the big moment, Billboard Philippines held a launch event at Whitespace Manila last October 15 that saw a who’s who of the music industry come together to celebrate the occasion.
The energy and excitement in the venue were palpable as music industry leaders, executives, producers, and artists witnessed the launch of Billboard Philippines and did so in attire that screamed rock chic. And as you can expect, having all these big names chatting and partying in one room for hours, you’re bound to get some fun moments. And we were on hand to catch the stars mingling. Even stars fangirl over other stars. That was the case with Nadine Lustre as she was spotted greeting Asia’s Songbird and Billboard Philippines cover star Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. Earlier in the event, we spotted Nadine and her boyfriend Christophe chatting with Gary Valenciano as they looked like two old friends catching up.
P-POP RISE

With SB19 serving as one of the two cover stars for Billboard Philippines’ inaugural issue, it was yet another moment of P-pop’s continued impact on the industry. Naturally, quite a few of P-pop’s biggest names attended the launch to celebrate the milestone. And while some fans would rather start fan wars, it was clear that it was nothing but love between the idols as we spotted BGYO’s Nate and Gelo, BINI’s Mikha and Aiah, and G22 heading over to the bar to get some shots and generally just catching up.
A VOCAL TRINITY

Can you imagine Darren Espanto, KZ Tandingan, and SB19’s Stell collab for a song? The vocals might just open a portal to the 4th dimension. FYI, there was a row of people watching Darren take the selfie with KZ and Stell, it was that iconic. And speaking of Darren, we spotted the young musician hanging out with Ingio Pascual throughout the night and even getting shots together at the bar.

From duets to being the cover stars of Billboard Philippines’ maiden issue, SB19 and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid are undoubtedly pillars of the OPM scene.
