And just like that, a new UAAP season is upon us as the men’s basketball tournament of UAAP Season 86 kicked things off with a bang. From UP’s current winning streak to our latest glimpse of the ADMU-La Salle rivalry, Season 86 has had its moments. Leading all these moments are new rosters of players who not only are proving themselves on the court, but also stealing hearts as they make their way onto the game stage. Reignite your university and varsity spirits with these student-athletes who are dribbling into our hearts this UAAP season!

Harold Alarcon – UP

We are still stunned by UP’s Harold’s full-court buzzer-beater shot in UP’s game against Adamson University during Round 1 eliminations. That full-court shot definitely did something to us, but zoom-outs don’t do his visuals justice! This man has been putting UP Fighting Maroons in the headlines with his exemplary plays and awestruck face card.

Jack Cruz-Dumont – UE

Another Canadian baller just landed in our hearts, with Jack from UE shooting for three! Mirroring his father’s journey in the same sport, Jack, along with his brother Hunter, is set on remarking UE Red Warriors’ reputation in the field. Talk about a total serve!

Patrick Yu – NU

NU Bulldogs’ top scorer is not only a court legend but also an academic rockstar. Patrick is among the 5,887 board passers for civil engineers, proving his double-wielding powers on and off the court.

Cholo Añonuevo – FEU

Another charmer has been making rounds on social media for his good looks and exceptional guarding skills. FEU’s Cholo is probably one of their university’s treasures this UAAP season and beyond!

Evan Nelle – DLSU

Evan’s name has been surrounded by quite a buzz for several reasons, but he’s made a name for himself, too! DLSU’s point guard has been racking up some points for the green and white university, proving his rizz in and out of the court.

Eli Ramos – AdU

If his last name sounds familiar, that’s because he’s the younger brother of basketball star Dwight Ramos. And clearly, being a pro in the sport runs in the family. Eli is definitely serving in his new stage with the Soaring Falcons of Adamson University, both with his game and looks! Steering away from the usual public narratives, Eli is bound to make a name for himself, even securing a brand deal with Rebook Philippines. Way to go, Eli!

Sean Quitevis – ADMU

“Sean from Ateneo” itself sounds attractive, what more if injected with the title ‘King Eagle?’ With his charismatic leadership style and impalpable playing skills, Sean is the 10/10 the basketball world needs.

CJ Cansino – UP

The list would not be complete without this classic cutie from the grounds of Diliman. CJ has already captured hearts nationwide even before joining the clique of the Fighting Maroons. And now healed from his injury that kept him off the court last season, CJ is helping the Maroons come for that trophy. It’s not just his looks that make CJ a classic UAAP heartthrob, but his charming personality as well.

Angelo Crisostomo – UST

España is not trailing behind when it comes to head-turning ballers with 6’5” Angelo’s participation in the ambush of Growling Tigers. With the whole team engaging in their uniform buzz cuts, we can say that Angelo is definitely rocking it.

The magic of rooting for a team and cheering on a specific player encapsulates the experience only basketball leagues can emulate.
