Despite the countrywide closure last June, the London footwear brand will have the chance to recommit to the region as it taps MAP Active to become its latest distribution partner
FitFlop has always had its place in shopping malls and department stores all around the Philippines since it first launched in 2007. While the London-based trademark has historically been a beloved go-to footwear brand to our titas and titos for being able to offer slippers, sneakers, and sandals that balance the benefits of a stylish silhouette and good economics, we are all equally excited for FitFlop’s surprise relaunch which is touted to happen nationwide this October. Appointing local retailer MAP Active Philippines Inc. as its newest distributor in the country, FitFlop is sure to catch the eyes—and feet—of its loyal customers, as well as new enthusiasts both old and new with an exciting range of footwear that’s as classy as it is comfy.
Stepping into new shoes
Founded in London, England, FitFlop’s mission as a wellness footwear company has been to empower people to live active and fulfilled lifestyles. Today, FitFlop has become a fashion favorite worldwide for providing footwear that’s emboldened by the perfect combination of comfort and fashion. Such an exciting balance has only been achieved by the footwear brand through the use of biomechanics—the study of the human body and how it moves—to allow each of its stylish pieces to promote optimal body alignment and complement natural walking styles. From classic sandals to sporty sneakers, FitFlop has sold tens of millions of pairs in over 66 countries around the globe.
“We are thrilled to announce this new partnership with MAP Active to reinvigorate the FitFlop brand in the Philippines,” said Margaret Ma, General Manager of the Asia and Pacific region of FitFlop. “Their [MAP Active] long-standing expertise and knowledge of the local market combined with our innovative footwear designs will allow us to reach new heights as we continue to serve our loyal Filipino clientele. The Philippines remains an important market for FitFlop and we are absolutely committed to our customers in this region.”
FitFlop aims to return to its operations in both physical and online stores in the Philippines as soon as the 4th quarter of 2021 begins. The first nine stores that are set to reopen will include SM Pampanga, SM Cabanatuan, SM Bacolod, SM Megamall, SM North Edsa, Ayala Centrio, Ayala Abreeza, Trinoma and Robinsons Place Manila.
