The measure of a true queen goes beyond victories, and the top two contenders for Miss Universe Philippines, Celeste Cortesi and Michelle Dee, have proven it in spades. As we all know, the winner who bagged the coveted crown this year was Celeste Cortesi, the Filipino-Italian beauty from Pasay City who also won Miss Earth Philippines in 2018. She’s been consistent from beginning to end, doing what she knows best, and owning it in every challenge.
First runner-up Michelle Dee on the other hand previously won Miss World Philippines 2019. A strong front-runner in the competition, she became a fan-favorite and also bagged more than five awards at the preliminaries. Just like that, it was a showdown between the Earth and the World, making it one of the most intense face-offs in Miss Universe Philippines history. But it wasn’t as “competitive” as most people wanted it to be like. After all, Celeste and Michelle revealed that they had a strong bond all throughout the pageant run.
