A natural progression to the long-standing commitment of both brands, Converse and Carhartt WIP take their partnership further, this time asserting a redefined take on daily uniform.

Tracing its origins from actual rough and tumble blue-collar work wear in Motor City (that’s Detroit to you), Carharrt WIP has since created and cultivated a dynamic lifestyle and street counterculture rooted in hip-hop and skate. From sensible denim and canvas overalls, the brand eventually expanded into what is touted as “best in class” apparel. Think: tailored pieces that meet the highest standards of durability, quality and comfort. The heritage American brand stakes its claim even further by reuniting with frequent collaborator, Converse, in this hyper cool redefinition of one’s daily uniform.
For this double release, Carhartt and Converse meet again to champion craftsmanship and dedication to quality, elevating your day-to-day uniform from okay to outstanding. Even with all things contained for the most part, the union of the two brands is still cool, and most importantly, comfortable even if you go from room to room or eventually set out into the world outside.
In this new movement, Converse x Carhartt WIP collection boasts of using single-source upcycled textiles from UK-based fashion and vintage retailer, Beyond Retro. These were then sorted into color ranges and cut to create individual Chuck 70 panels. A seamless hybrid of the two cultural cornerstones, the Converse x Carhartt WIP is that definitive take on a repurposed utilitarian aesthetic that has that lived in feel and grit to its sole.
You Better Work
Rendered in the signature tri-panel execution with stitching details signature to both Converse and Carhartt, the Chuck 70 Hi pairs in camouflage and canvas call to mind the motifs and staples from the garment brand that date back to the nonchalant, come-as-you-are 90s. Celebrating the legacy of Converse, as well as of the robust reputation of Carhartt with its hardwearing products, the partnership prides itself in premium construction, quality, and utmost attention to detail. Upon closer inspection, these thoughtful add-ons are realized in OrthoLite insoles, co-branded footbeds, and subtle intrusions of vintage license plates.
A tip of a hat to the style standouts that continue to further stake its claim in contemporary fashion sensibilities, the Converse x Carhartt WIP is where form meets function in effective expression. Worthy as it is as an addition to our daily uniform (no matter how sporadic the need may be these days), this collaboration is a true testament to the spirit that simply works both ways.
The collection is available on February 5 at Commonwealth Greenbelt.
