Believe it or not, James Reid didn’t exactly have the next 10 years of Careless Music planned when he launched the company in the late 2010s. All he knew was that he wanted a company to be for and by artists with the label roster always at the forefront. Contrary to their name, Careless Music do care about their people with the goal of helping them become the best artists they can be. And true enough, the independent label has grown to one of the major players in the local independent music scene.
Their diverse roster includes rising stars, as well as some of the biggest names in the industry. And as they continue to disrupt the local music industry and culture, their influence and reach is slowly spreading outside the country with partnerships both in the US and South Korea. Needless to say, you should care about Careless. And their rise as a force to be reckoned with was immortalized as they were the cover stars of NYLON Manila’s 2nd quarter issue.
