After conquering the national finals of the Red Bull Doodle Art competition, Sheena Jacobo is now set to battle with the best doodlers in the world.

Who doesn’t like doodles? From a high school hobby that fills our notebooks with memories to being a stress-reliever at stressful times, doodling is probably the most accessible (and therapeutic) artistic medium there is. But for one Filipino talent by the name of Sheena Jacobo, creating doodles is not just a simple pastime. It is a creative passion and vocation that can, well, conquer the world.

A CHAMPION DOODLER

In case you missed it, functional beverage brand Red Bull recently held its second Red Bull Doodle Art competition in the Philippines. Described as a space “where art and technology meet with new opportunities for creative doodlers,” the global contest wrapped its National Finals leg last March 25, where Sheena Jacobo, a proud Bicolana artist, was crowned as the new champion.

With a theme about loving life, Sheena bested hundreds of the archipelago’s most talented up-and-coming doodle artists. “My doodle is based on the concept of a new world in which humans, aliens, robots, and any living and non-living beings in any form can coexist,” says Sheena about her winning entry that explores the concept of unity among all life forms. Inspired by movies she’s enjoyed in the past, Sheena’s doodle artwork stood out for its awe-inspiring creativity and technical application.

Renowned Filipino artists Kookoo Ramos, Mong Barcelon, and Julienne Dadivas served as the national judges, who voted for the artist that had best execution of the theme, creativity, and artistic skill. Meanwhile, doodle artists Lexi Margaux Cruz and Alex Rafael emerged as the second and third placers, respectively.

Red Bull Doodle Art competition

Currently taking up her graduate studies majoring in English education at Naga College Foundation, Inc., Sheena Jacobo is now set to represent the Philippines at the Red Bull Doodle Art World Finals in Amsterdam together with fellow finalists from 62 participating countries. There, she will take part in a three-day workshop and work with an artist mentor to come up with the best NFT collectible artwork in the hopes of securing the title of Red Bull Doodle Art World Champion.

Inspired to give “wings to people and ideas” and support dreams and artistic aspirations, Red Bull aims to empower a new generation of artists with their worldwide doodle art competition. And we know that Sheena Jacobo and her talent would fly high for sure. The Red Bull Doodle Art World Finals happens on May 25, 2023. Let’s support and keep up with Sheena’s journey by following Red Bull Philippines on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tiktok.
