First a passport photo, now her driver’s license? Chie Filomeno really knows how to snatch her mug, and we’re here to show you how you can achieve it, too.
Let’s be real—the process of getting a government ID can feel like a hassle. Waiting in long lines and filling out forms just isn’t the vibe. But when you’re in dire need of a passport or driver’s license, or your IDs are about to expire, you just gotta do what you gotta do. While you’re at it, why not zhuzh it up a little by getting dressed up for your ID photo? Getting your driver’s license can be stressful, so the least you can do is to look good while applying for one.
The passport or driver’s license makeup trend has been around for quite some time, but when Chie Filomeno posted her own take a couple months back, everyone seemed to hop on the bandwagon.

This time, she posted her driver’s license photo, and there’s been a mix of opinions. Fans on Facebook show their love for the photo, while others have been sending negative comments on the post telling her that wearing makeup and jewelry isn’t allowed. Chie clapped back by saying, ‘Sa drivers license pwede naman naka makeup wag lang nakakabulag na makeup at pwede mag hikaw wag lang pang Merry Christmas na hikaw. Okay na po ba? Let people enjoy things. Gusto ko presentable ako sa ID photos ko, kaya nag eeffort po ako.’ And she is absolutely right!
GOVERNMENT-APPROVED BEAT
Looking presentable and making an effort is definitely okay in our book. The next time you’ll be taking your government ID photos is after ten more years, so a little effort goes a long way—literally.
Here’s what you can do to achieve a government ID photo that looks exactly like hers! The makeup technique is simple and easy to follow. The most important part is making sure you have a natural base and a good understanding of your face structure. The driver’s license look is heavily inspired by “clean girl makeup,” so less is more.
Prepping the skin by applying moisturizer and a blurring primer will help with a seamless base application. Using products such as tinted moisturizers, tinted sunscreens, and BB creams will give your complexion a natural finish. Another thing to note is that shadows will be apparent in the photo, so knowing where to contour and how much you should apply is very important. Everyone is loving the passport and driver’s license makeup look, and we understand why. Who wouldn’t want to look snatched on their photos? Beauty influencers such as Lierge Perey, Pat Cortez, and Kyla Javier have also hopped in on the trend. Don’t they look sickening? At the end of the day, there’s nothing wrong with serving face and mug in your government IDs as long as you follow the rules.
