When Bretman Rock was in the Philippines earlier this year for their book tour, they made it known that they wanted to be in the homeland more often. And just a few months later, that happened as Bretman and his core team headed for the Philippines for two weeks of R&R and then some. The vacation and recent homecoming was fun, funny, and a little bit chaotic as Bretman soaked up the sun, flexed their fits, and had heads turning at a prestigious gala. Here are some moments from Bretman’s recent return home that made for the best vacation ever.
ENJOYING PALAWAN
First up on Bretman’s agenda was to enjoy the sun, surf, and nature of Palawan as the social media superstar island-hopped across some of the country’s most beautiful destinations and even had time to throw a little shade on Instagram on how to pronounce the island. They stayed in villas that were just a stone-throw away from the ocean and had us jealous af with the stunning views. And naturally, Bretman still made time to get those shoots across Palawan’s world-renowned beaches.
FLEXING FILIPINO FASHION
Bretman Rock has never been one to hide their Filipino roots. And in their return to the country, Bretman made sure to stun in local fashion. From gagging us in a red jellyfish dress from RAFA WORLDWIDE while in Palawan, shopping multiple local designers at ArteFino 2023 and sharing their haul on Instagram, and entering the best-dressed list with their custom Rajo Laurel creation at Vogue Philippines’ Anniversary Gala, Bretman showed up and showed out in local threads.
MEETING TAYLOR SHEESH
Can you imagine having Taylor Sheesh give you a private performance? For Bretman Rock, they didn’t need to imagine it as it happened. In the crossover of our dreams, Taylor Sheesh performed for Bretman’s cousin, Miss Kaye, in honor of their birthday, and you can bet Bretman got their whole life from the drag queen.
STUNNING AT THE VOGUE PH GALA
You really are Da Baddest when you attend a gala filled with A-list stars, and you become a celebrity among celebrities. Not only was Bretman a head-turner in Rajo Laurel and rocked his 30-inch hair and morena skin, but they also had stars and guests fawning over them left and right. That’s icon behavior if you ask us.

Bretman said, “Support your local drag queens!” The superstar hasn’t made his love for drag a secret, and just like during his book tour in Manila earlier this year, Bretman included time in their schedule to go to O Bar and party it up with the local queens. The Drag Race Philippines judge even went up on stage to do a little lip sync to Domino by Jessie J.

Why sing a Nina track in karaoke when you can just do it with the actual musician? That was the MO for Bretman when they went to karaoke with Nina during one of their last days in Manila as Bretman had the honor of seeing the OPM icon belting out her greatest hits right in front of them.
VOLUNTEERING AT A DONATION DRIVE
Bretman’s Philippines vacation wasn’t all just fun and games. In between their events and many, many celebrity meetups, Bretman also gave back to the community as they participated in a donation drive with Filipinos Advancing Creative Education. Bretman, together with other Filipino creatives, gave toys, meals, and school supplies to community members at Caloocan Sampalukan Elementary School in Caloocan City.
