Keeping it 💯.

It’s so easy to lose yourself when you’re chronically online and constantly creating and curating, but if there’s one thing people respect, it’s authenticity.

In this oversaturated world of content, what (or who) stands out?

The content creators that find strong, loyal following are often those that are upfront, honest, and open to engaging with their audience. Many of us have defaulted to rolling our eyes at influencers these days (there’s just so many, and their reputation precedes them), but there’s no denying that content creation has become a legitimate form of work as well as lifestyle. So, of course there’s going to be so many of them around, sharing their lives and talking about the things they’re doing or the things they love. Now, how do you sift through all the TikTok videos and Instagram posts and find the content that you’d actually enjoy watching?

We follow content creators and influencers because we enjoy them sharing their lives with us, whether it’s because we want to emulate their lives or because their content is just good, point blank. But there’s a reason why influencers who keep it real—people who are unafraid to be honest about things they use or the lifestyle they’re living, people who put in the work and don’t just rely on their name or their money to get them through life, people who have principles—garner more respect than those who are simply, clearly, just in it for the clout and don’t recognize or have gratitude for the influential position they’re in when they have a platform.

Authenticity has become a buzzword on social media—but what does it mean to be authentic online? Can you actually be authentic online? It’s a question that has become more poignant these days as more people question the backgrounds of content creators and if they genuinely represent themselves online. It’s so easy to be fake online—to be all bubbly and happy on screen, but rude and disrespectful in real life. To promote a product but actually hate it and never use it. To fake a lifestyle just for the clout. It’s easy to admire someone when all you know of them is what they choose to publish online.

I’ve received feedback that has changed how I create content and engage with people. Some of my audience suggested I be more interactive, which led me to ask more questions and encourage discussions. Instead of taking it as criticism, I saw it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Listening to what people need helped me refine my approach and connect with my audience more authentically. Each piece of feedback became a stepping stone to becoming better at what I do.

The world of content creation is so diverse, and with so much out there, staying true to yourself can sometimes feel like a challenge. For me, it’s all about finding my own style and embracing who I truly am.

When you scroll through your feed, it’s easy to see everyone sharing mini vlogs, showcasing fashion, exploring weekend markets, or diving into skincare. Trends can be inspiring and help you discover what resonates with you, but I’ve learned that chasing every trend isn’t always the way to go.

To truly stand out, it’s about staying connected to what you genuinely love and enjoy. It’s about expressing yourself in a way that feels authentic and letting your audience see the real you. At the end of the day, the best thing you can do is simply “be you” because that’s what makes you unique.

I take pride in being authentic in my content—whether it’s showing how genuinely excited I am to share my favorite finds to posting my ugly crying moments. I’d like to think I offer more than the niches of fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and fitness, and that my followers are able to relate to me being overly sentimental, sensitive, and affectionate. I love sharing girlhood with others.

I am mostly known for being a beauty content creator and a lot of my followers follow me because they want to know my thoughts on certain makeup and skincare products. However, I’ve always seen myself as someone with a wide range of interests, so I make an effort not to limit myself to beauty alone. That’s why I also share content about fashion, travel, and coffee reviews—all the things that excite me.

I’ve always strived to let my personality shine through in my videos and to remain as authentic as possible. Growing up, I was always unapologetically myself, and that’s something I carry with me today. But at the same time as a content creator, I try my best to strike a balance between being updated with the latest trends, sticking to what I usually put out, while finding new angles to make my content more interesting and engaging to my viewers. But most importantly at the end of the day, if a content idea doesn’t resonate with me, I won’t force it, even if it could potentially boost engagement.

Ultimately, I just stay true to who I am, and I trust that the right audience will connect with that.
