When TWICE’s Nayeon announced that she was dropping her very first solo album, IM NAYEON, she already got everyone’s attention considering that she was the first member of the powerhouse girl group to release solo music. The hype was understandable, but little did we know that her lead single, POP! would be that song. What’s so special about the track is that it harkens back to a time of early K-pop one filled with bubble gum pop and bright beats. It’s bouncy and fun sound made for an easy and addicting listen and just made you feel good.
But aside from the more than a dozen looks Nayeon served in the music video, another aspect that caught people’s attention was the hand choreography during the chorus. The deceptively simple hand movements was something many people wanted to master and soon, POP! became the latest trend on TikTok, raking up over 1.1 million videos and counting.
