These meals and dishes from all types of cuisine will fill you up and even leave you wanting more. Check out this September’s round-up of food and drink faves!

Frozen Tiger Temple in Mango Tree Café – GELO QUIJENCIO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

I loved the Frozen Tiger Temple in Mango Tree Café because it was the perfect mix of sweet, refreshing, and has a bit of kick because of the chili flakes, something I didn’t expect but instantly fell in love as it compliments the flavor. My best friend made me try it during her birthday, and now it feels like a little memory sealed in flavor. The balance of tamarind’s kick and the café’s signature style made it truly unforgettable.

KHAO KHAI – NICA GLORIOSO, FEATURES & POP CULTURE WRITER

Thai food is the GOAT, and Khao Khai has some mouth-watering Thai food that I could eat for the rest of my days. Their Krapao and Kor Moo Yang are deliciously seasoned, and each dish, from the meat to the vegetables to the rice, is a wonderful burst of flavor in your mouth.

Coopers Matcha Latte – BIANCA LAO, SR. BRAND ASSOCIATE

As a matcha girlie who prefers her matcha to be on the more bitter side, I really enjoy Coopers’ sweet take on their matcha drink. It’s all you could possibly want in a drink—it’s creamy, sweet, rich, and served with this matcha foam on top that pulls everything together. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking to cop a sweet treat (that you very much deserve!).

Mango & Sriracha Chicken Bites at Daily Habit Cafe – PRECY TAN, CREATIVE SERVICES COPYWRITER

I really liked the Mango & Sriracha Chicken Bites at Daily Habit Cafe because it hits that sweet and spicy balance perfectly. I usually stay away from spicy food, but this was not overwhelming at all. It has just the right amount of kick to make it exciting without burning your mouth. Plus, the serving is generous, so it is definitely worth it if you are feeling hungry.

a mano Shakerato Bianco – LUNA ZABALA, MARKETING COPYWRITER

For someone who claims to lack a sweet tooth, a mano’s Shakerato Bianco makes for an anomalous obsession, but I’m into it regardless. The drink is milky, smooth, aggressively sweet (almost teetering on the edge of “too sweet” territory, but not quite), and its two shots of espresso wake you right up — if all the sugar hasn’t already.

If you hate the taste of coffee, love sugar, and crave heart palpitations, this is the drink for you.

BUT FIRST, COFFEE – RICHMOND ORPIA, ART INTERN

Matcha Strawberry is what I always look for on a cafe menu whenever my friends and I go out, and But First, Coffee’s take on this drink did not disappoint! The sweetness of the strawberry syrup blends perfectly with the slight bitterness of their matcha. The flavors work so well together, super loved it!

CAROUSEL CREAMERY – MIKA CRUZ, MMGI PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Apart from the taste of the ice creams what stands out in this ice cream shop (ICE CREAM SHOP!?) are the 70+ options of flavors to choose from. From our go-to favorite chocolate picks to a matcha heaven and to many more unconventional flavor like bacon & cheese. What stands out as well, is the experience you get upon making your orders. Not the simple pay & get your order type but in Carousel Creamery you buy a ‘token’ to get a sweet treat after trying to find the perfect flavor that fits your taste.

Flipside Burgers, Umami Burger – ELLA UTITCO, MARKETING INTERN

Whenever I visit UP Diliman, I always make sure to visit the Gyud Food Hub for Flipside Burgers’ Umami Burger. It’s a great blend of juicy smash patties, melted cheese, and a rich and creamy sauce that always leaves me wanting another one. I’ve never been the biggest fan of burgers, but this is possibly one of my favorite bites ever.
