Another week has passed, which means we have more new songs to listen to. This week’s list features a good mix of releases from both OPM artists and international acts. Some of these songs were highly anticipated while others were more of surprise releases. Here are some of the new song releases you can add to your growing weekend playlist.
up to me – LANY
LANY gave us not one, but two new songs. The first is a new song called up to me and the other is a demo version of dna.
People Watching – Conan Gray
Following the release of the emotional Astronomy, Conan Gray is back with a new song called People Watching. The track is dedicated to lonely people who wonder what it’s like to be deeply in love. Conan based the lyrics on things he’s eavesdropped off of times when he used to do people-watching at the cafe when he was in college.
kasmala – ALAMAT
P-Pop oy group Alamat is back with their first comeback kasmala. The title is a play on the word malakas and shows an edgier and intense sound from the boys. The music video, meanwhile, tackles Asian and Filipino hate.
Shot in the Dark – John Meyer
After more than four years, John Mayer finally has a new album out with the release of Sob Rock. John Mayer fans are definitely having a great time as of late.
Wild Side – Normani and Cardi B
Normani released her highly anticipated new single, Wild Side with Cardi B. The sexy R&B song features Normani’s sensual vocals. The music video, meanwhile, sees Normani serve smooth dance moves and look after stunning look.
Happy To Be Sad – Ben Platt
Ben Platt has a new song called Happy To Be Sad. The track serves as the lead-up single to his upcoming second studio album Reverie which is out on August 13.
Anticipation – Leanne & Naara
Female OPM duo Leanne & Naara have a new song out called Anticipation.
Kagandahan – Fern.
Fern. is out with a new song Kagandahan. The guitar-driven track perfectly showcases Fern’s vocals and it has got us in our feels.
Dazed – Kiana V
Kiana V just released her first new song of the year with Dazed. Kiana sounds so beautiful on the track and it’s the kind of song you just want to lie on bed and listen to with your eyes closed.
Beautiful – Anne-Marie
Anne-Marie has a new song out called Beautiful. It is an uplifting track about accepting your flaws and loving yourself.
Curtismith – Downtown as Fruits
Following his exhibit at Pinot Art Musuem, Custismith has a funky new single out called Downtown as Fruits.
Dungaw – Adie
Adie has a hugot-filled new song called Dungaw. In the track, Adie talks about a kind of love that never lets go. It also offers a mix of acoustic beats and a beautiful harmony that showcases his soothing, airy vocal.
G R O W – WILLOW, Avril Lavigne, and Travis Barker
WILLOW’S pop punk rock era has reached it’s climax with the release of her latest album lately I feel EVERYTHING. Get ready to rock out to her songs.
TEAMO – MINZY
Minzy has a new song out with the release of her third single Teamo. The song is a Latin and hip-hop-inspired track that’s perfect for any summer party. The choreography to the song meanwhile was made by Gforce Gelai.
Galakbay – Press Hit Play
Up and coming P-Pop boy group Press Hit Play, or simply PHP, have released a pre-debut single called Galakbay. The ballad serves as the group’s love letter to their fans and supporters.
Sweet Dream – Alessia Cara
In anticipation of her upcoming third album, Alessia Cara released two brand new songs called Sweet Dream and Shapeshifter. In keeping with the album’s theme of duality, both songs feature two different sides. Sweet Dream is meant to represent hardship and helplessness while Shapeshifter is the more mature and light-hearted side.
Dreamers – ATEEZ
ATEEZ just released their first Japanese single called Dreamers. It’s accompanying music video is giving summer fun and vibes very much.
Drink It – THE BOYZ
THE BOYZ just released a promo single called Drink It for the app Universe.
California Remix – 88rising, Rich Brian, NIKI, Jackson Wang, and Warren Hue
As if this song couldn’t get any better, California has a remixed version out that features Jackson Wang.
Heroes – Chlara
OPM artist Chlara released her version of David Bowie’s song Heroes. But she didn’t just do a simple cover, she turned the song into her own that still gives justice to Bowie’s original.
Don’t Wait Up – Shakira
Shakira just released her first new song of 2021 with Don’t Wait Up. The song is a liberating up-tempo anthem and an earworm you can’t help but dance to.
SÚBELE EL VOLUMEN – Daddy Yankee, Myke Towers, and Jhay Cortez
Daddy Yankee surprised fans when he dropped a new song called SÚBELE EL VOLUMEN. Sonically, the track fuses high energy reggaeton with up-tempo hip-hop and a magnetic hook.
Kumpas – Barbie Almalbis
After seven years, Barbie Almalbis has a new album out called Scenes from Inside. The nine-track album features pop-rock gems filled with melodic sweetness.
