Over the past years, K-Pop survival shows have been very popular in South Korea. Shows like Produce 101 and Girls Planet 999 have been popular venues for hopefuls to get exposure and hopefully debut as real idols. But if you’ve ever been wondering how you’ll be able to participate in one of these shows, wonder no more.
I-LAND 2 IS LOOKING FOR A GIRL GROUP
On September 27, HYBE and Mnet announced that they were launching a joint audition program for I-LAND 2. If you aren’t in the know, I-LAND is a reality show about the creation process of the next generation of K-Pop artists. The first season aired from June 2020 to September 2020, which saw a group of male trainees compete for a spot on an upcoming boy group under BELIFT LAB. That group, of course, was ENHYPEN. This time, I-LAND 2 will be centered on a group of young females with the goal of forming a girl group to debut under BELIFT LAB and be label mates with ENHYPHEN. And you, yes you, can be part of this girl group. Here’s how you can audition.

Any female born between January 1, 2000 – December 31, 2009 is eligible to apply. And don’t worry about not being from South Korea because any nationality is accepted and there aren’t any restrictions based on where you are from. You can also audition as a duo or group. Step one of the audition process requires you to submit an application form at BELIFT’s website. You also need to choose one of three categories: vocals, rap, or dance. You then have to make a self-introduction video and a video that shows your audition category. Deadline for applications will only be accepted until October 10, Sunday,12 AM KST, 11 PM PH time.
If you pass round one, round two will be a real-time video call with staff. Those will be held between Sunday, October 24, and Sunday, November 21, 2021. The video call auditions will take place in seven countries/regions: Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Australia, Thailand, Taiwan, and the US. Pass that and the third and final round will be a comprehensive audition with full details to be sent to the auditionee. Make it all the way to the end and you’ll get to sign a trainee contract and begin your journey. Winners of each round will be notified individually.
