ICYMI, FLO Helped Write A Song For K-pop Girl Group Hearts2Hearts

We love to see it.

We always love it when girls support other girls, and it’s extra cool when girl groups support each other.

UK-based girl group FLO has been on the rise ever since their debut, and they continue to slay the game. With their 2024 debut album, Access All Areas, they served pure talent on every track. Besides their riffs and smooth harmonies, the girls have also taken part in writing many of their song. Reneé even produced their track Nocturnal (icon behavior, TBH).

But it isn’t just their own music that FLO sprinkles their baddie energy on. They’ve also lent a hand in creating songs for other artists, with one of those so happen to be K-pop girl group Hearts2Hearts. Take a peek at the credits for the group’s debut single, The Chase, and you’ll find FLO is credited as co-writers on the track. Okay taste! All the girls are girl grouping on this one, and we’re here for it.

THE NEW GIRLS IN (SM)TOWN

ICYDK, Hearts2Hearts is SM Entertainments newest girl group and it consists of Jiwoo, Carmen, Yuha, Stella, Juun, A-na, Ian, and Ye-on. The company has given us some of K-pop’s most iconic girl groups to date, such as Girl’s Generation, f(x), Red Velvet, and aespa, so naturally, the expectations are up there for the 8-member group. With how many genre-defining groups SM has under their belt, we’re interested to see what these new girlies have to offer. And so far, with their dreamy visuals and vocals, we see why people are ready to stan.

FLO, meanwhile, has an impeccable pen when it comes to writing tracks that hit, and it makes sense why fans were excited to see this crossover. Their songs often feature them singing about love, heartbreak, and being an overall baddie, so FLO stans were interested to hear how their presence would translate into another genre. We’re happy to say they passed the vibe check. The Chase is all about taking leaps and looking for a big adventure, and the song’s gentle R&B flair and sweet lyrics definitely have a hint of FLO in them.

Many of us know that the music industry can be a competitive one. Women often get (unfairly) pitted against one another in these spaces. So, we love seeing two girl groups work their magic to make a bop. And what makes it even better is that it’s two girl groups we didn’t exactly see coming for a joint slay. But we’re always happy to be proven wrong. Perhaps this might inspire more collabs between other girl groups from different genres and continents. Here’s to more unexpected slays and crossovers.
