Growing up in the Philippines means being spoiled with various Asian cuisines — Indian, Chinese, Korean, and so on — but a staple of many Filipinos’ childhoods has always been Japanese food. From the comfort brought by a warm donburi to the joy felt only while slurping down a steaming hot bowl of ramen, Japanese spots like Ebi10 have become synonymous with coziness and familiarity.

And while Japanese food is classic and perfect as is, that doesn’t mean chefs can’t try to push the cuisine’s culinary boundaries. That’s exactly what Ebi10 set out to do when it (hypothetically) asked, ‘Do you know what would make Japanese food even better — and more comforting?’

To which Cheetos (also hypothetically) replied with what we’ve all been thinking: ‘Cheese!’

And thus a bold new collaboration was born. Featuring four limited-edition dishes, Ebi10 x Cheetos combines the hominess of Japanese flavors with the warm embrace of cheese, and of course, the crave-worthy, signature Cheetos crunch.

“This collaboration is really about fun and innovation,” shares Mica Viray, Founder and Managing Partner of Ebi10. “Ebi10 has always been about bringing Japanese comfort food to everyone — but with a twist that keeps things exciting. Partnering with Cheetos felt like the perfect way to push that boundary even further.”

CHEESY, CRUNCHY CREATIONS

Ebi10 x Cheetos’ menu features four out-of-this-world dishes by Chef Mikko Reyes, who masterfully balances texture, kick, and flavor. Depending on the Cheetos variant incorporated, some plates pack more heat than others, but every dish transforms a Japanese staple into the boldest, cheesiest version of itself possible.

“These dishes are all about playfulness,” remarks Reyes. “We wanted to take the comfort of Japanese food and layer it with Cheetos’ signature crunch and heat — every bite surprises you.” And surprise you, they will.

If you’re craving sushi with a fiery twist, go for the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Tuna Roll. It has all the classic maki roll ingredients: fresh tuna, mango, and cucumber, but it’s also topped with spicy Cheetos chunks, as well as dynamite and teriyaki sauces.

Want something a bit heartier? Then the Tori Chee-Tonkatsu might be your best bet. It features a whole cut of Cheddar Jalapeño Cheetos-crusted chicken katsu, paired with some sesame cabbage salad and creamy mayo, to balance out the cheesy richness.

There’s also the Ebi Cheetos Furai. FYI, furai is not the same as tempura — the latter has a thinner, more delicate coating while the former is usually breaded with panko. This time, the furai is dredged in Cheddar Jalapeño Cheetos for a unique texture and a zingy taste. It’s served alongside sesame cabbage salad, karai mayo, and katsu mayo.

Cap off your meal (or start it — I see you, sweet tooth!) with the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Sundae. Don’t knock it ‘til you try it. Think classic, creamy vanilla ice cream topped with brownie bits, a decadent miso butterscotch, and chunks of Cheetos to bring a little unexpected heat. It has nearly all the flavor profiles: salty, sweet, spicy. What more could your taste buds ask for?

A FESTIVAL OF FLAVOR

“Cheetos has always been about bold self-expression and having fun with flavor,” says Marjorie Chan, Marketing Manager of Pepsi Frito-Lay Group. “Working with Ebi10 allowed us to bring that personality into a new experience — crunchy, daring, and full of creativity.”

The comfort of Japanese food, the flavor of cheese, and the crunch of Cheetos — there’s something for everyone in this collab.

The Ebi10 x Cheetos collaboration has a limited-time run from October 8 to November 30, 2025, at select branches only. If you’re near any of Ebi10’s One Ayala, Capitol Commons, Greenhills, Eastwood, Angeles, Nuvali, or Vermosa branches, get over there ASAP and savor the crunch (while it lasts).
