What do you do when your boyfriend makes history as the first male Filipino gymnast to win an Olympic gold medal? You make a TikTok/Reel about it, of course. Following Carlos’ first gold medal win, Chloe posted a video of them celebrating the achievement with a trending audio that touched upon the Pinoy pride of it all.

Carlos’ journey to greatness wasn’t easy with the sacrifices and struggles he had to deal with. In the high-stakes environment Carlos works in, having at least that one person to have faith in you is enough to change the game. And Chloe was that one person. In the four years and counting they’ve been together, Chloe has been by Carlos’ side throughout his many ups and downs. She and her family’s support for Carlos meant a lot to the athlete. He thanked them after winning gold in Paris.

LDRs, or long-distance relationships, have ended many couples. But not Carlos and Chloe. Chloe studied in Australia for a time while Carlos is often out of the country for training or competing in international events. Yet, despite being continents apart, they still made it work and made time for themselves through video calls and quick meet-ups whenever their schedules aligned.
