But if the year’s bingo card has been wild, it’s gotten even wilder with recent announcements and projects featuring local stars and some big names overseas. By its very nature, collaborations have been the avenue for Filipino personalities to work with and share their talents with people you may have not imagined as a top pairing.

SEO IN GUK AND FRANCINE DIAZ COLLABORATE FOR A SONG

When people think of Francine Diaz and Seo In Guk working together, a movie or show would probably be top-of-mind for many. But the duo decided to zag when they announced that they would be working on a song together. Francine will collaborate with the Replay 1997 star for a remix to his track My Love, which was initially released in 2022 featuring a rap verse from Ravi. However, this new version will see Ravi’s part replaced with a new singing section featuring Francine. The collab is set to drop real soon, and you can bet we’ll be eager to press play when it lands.

If you had Kath from Vince & Kath & James and XO, Kitty’s Minho working together on your 2024 bingo card, then we need to see what else is on it. Julia Barretto and Lee Sang Heon, along with Indonesian actor Nicholas Saputra, are set to star in a new series from Viu titled Secret Ingredient, which will be done in partnership with Unilever Nutrition. While plot details are thin as of this writing, the show looks to heavily involve food, as evidenced by its title and the teases the actors have been dropping on social media. Our screens (and tummies) are ready.
WIN METAWIN AND JANELLA SALVADOR ARE THE LEADS OF A MOVIE
While we knew that Win Metawin and Janella Salvador were working on a movie together for a while, we didn’t know it was going to be this spicy. When the teaser for their project, Under Parallel Skies, dropped, the filmmakers decided to leave social media shook by including a kissing scene between Win and Janella, with Win’s character saying “masarap”. If that’s the teaser, who knows what the movie has in store?
Speaking of the film, it stars Win as a man trying to move on in life and Janella as a woman who helps him do so, while also being connected to his past. Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, the director of indie smash hit Kita Kita, is directing the Hong Kong-set movie, which is currently slated for a theatrical release this April. Consider us seated for this Filipino-Thai collab.
