Whenever we hold our annual Big Bold Brave Awards, we always strive to have each succeeding edition go one step above its predecessor. For Big Bold Brave Awards: Next Level, that was achieved and then some. As our way to celebrate the names, faces, personalities, moments, and brands who made it with a definitive period in the last year, the awards went bigger, bolder, and braver with our largest yet: over 30 categories and more than 150 nominees.
We always hope for BBB to be a moment where fans come together to express their support for their faves. And you all gave a truly next-level passion and dedication to voting. The fervor was real, as seen in the over 24 million votes tallied across all the polls. Hundreds of thousands of you pressed start on this game, and for that, we thank you.
Among our three categories, the Big category got the most love. Yes, just like with any protagonist’s journey in a video game, this year’s Big category had its bumps on the road and unfortunate detours. But, it’s safe to say that the love is real, especially when it comes to fans showing their support for the many nominees. Every nominee is a winner if you think about it, but there can only be one name in each poll that comes out on top.

The poll that got everyone talking. It was a close fight that admittedly got heated by the end of the voting period. But in the end, it was the joint slay of SB19 and &TEAM that won out. AAA 2023 was a big deal considering that it was being held in the Philippines and that a constellation of stars was to attend and perform. So the fact that this collab stage between SB19 and &TEAM became a highlight for many proves just how iconic this was. It was a great way to open the show seeing them perform GENTO on that major stage, not to mention a bit of a cultural collaboration between two groups from different parts of the world.

The deserved achievement marked their first UAAP men’s basketball championship win in seven years. And with UAAP Season 87 on the horizon, they just might add one more to the collection.
