Fortunately in the present age, more beauty brands have been diversifying the casting in their ads and campaigns, making every Filipina feel represented and empowered despite the stubborn persistence of the unrealistic beauty standard of Euro-centric features imposed by society. With this, more personalities have been making us want to wear our natural curls out, no longer with the fear of being bullied or called names (sadly, those toxic comments still exist). R&B singer and songwriter Kiana Valenciano left us in a daze when she posted a selfie in her natural curls. For the longest time, we’ve only seen Kiana in a lob, slicked back hair and waves. Yes, curl!

In a previous shoot, Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan mentioned that her hair was always naturally wavy. We often see her in braids or wigs (a pixie presently), but when she debuted her natural curls, we were blown away.
