We love it when Filipino celebrities and Pinoy pop groups join forces and treat us to exciting and delightful collabs. There’s just something precious and beautiful when local talents support each other. In the case of dance prodigy AC Bonifacio, she’s been charming us with fire collaborations with fellow local artists before. But her recent team-up marks a special one as she helps put the spotlight on a new four-piece P-pop girl group, YARA. And in their recent vlog together, you can’t help but mistake AC for being YARA’s fifth member because of their chemistry.
IT’S YARA AC
In what looks to be a series of vlogs with P-pop groups, AC Bonifacio has recently released a new episode on her YouTube channel, this time veering away from her recent reaction and reminiscing videos. AC calls it a “very special vlog,” where the queen of hip-hop allows us to get to know more about P-pop’s newest girl group in town, YARA, and of course, do some moves with the girls.
YARA’s Christa, Rocher, Gelou, and Kim were the first-ever grand winners of the reality survival show PoPinoy and were trained under ShowBT (the same team who trained SB19) for years. They officially made their debut last March 10, 2023 with a fiery and feisty track ADDA, a contraction of the phrase, “Apat Dapat, Dapat Apat,” alluding to the group’s four-piece greatness.

But if you’ll look into their moments with AC Bonifacio, you’d definitely think that there’s some room for a new member because of their synergy on the dance floor. After introducing themselves, YARA’s main dancer Gelou then teaches AC the ADDA choreography, which the ASAP Natin ‘To’s dance whiz learns effortlessly. The result is a YARA x AC dance number that we need to see on a much bigger and explosive stage ASAP. Even AC is so hyped up she’s had to do the ADDA dance with YARA twice.

The collab also doesn’t stop there. YARA posted a video on their TikTok page where they, and AC, mark the start of the ADDA dance challenge. (You have to do it.) Meanwhile, in another TikTok entry by AC that’s now been viewed over a hundred thousand times, the girls channel their XG spirit as they do a cover of the global pop group’s viral hit Left Right. If you want more of this special collab, tune in to AC’s YouTube page as she and YARA are about to get us nostalgic with a dance revo challenge coming out soon.
