What does it mean to be a multi-hyphenate? Is it success in multiple fields? Flexing a variety of skills? Or is it being able to say that you’re a published author, despite writing not being your bread and butter? For the following celebs, it’s a fact that they can lowkey brag about. While stars writing their own books isn’t a novel concept, it takes effort to plan out and write an entire book, especially when writing isn’t what they’re most known for. MIKA SALAMANCA

Ever since she won Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, Mika Salamanca has been making the most of this new chapter of her life. Case in point: aside from magazine covers, TV guestings, a rising music career, and being the first Big Winner from GMA, Mika is now also a published author.

Recently, she launched her first-ever children’s book at the 2025 Manila International Book Fair. Titled Lipad, the book is about a young fairy named Mahika, who feels she is not good enough because her wings are small and different from the rest. It’s a story close to Mika’s heart, one she’s been working on since the second day she left PBB and is dedicated is her way to give back to the next generation.

PIA WURTZBACH

Beauty queen, fashion icon, actress, and published author, Pia Wurtzbach can honestly do it all. ICYDK, in 2023, Pia released her debut book titled Queen of the Universe: A Novel: Love, Truth, Beauty. Fittingly, the fictional novel is set in Manila’s beauty pageant scene and follows a young woman named Cleo trying to achieve her dreams while dealing with the highs and lows of the world of beauty pageants.  

ANNE CURTIS

With all the feats Anne Curtis has achieved, you may not have known that the multi-hyphenate superstar also has her own book, a children’s book, to be exact. In February 2016, she released her first (and so far only) children’s book entitled Anita, the Duckling Diva. It centers on a duckling who’s bullied by her friends when she tries to sing in front of an audience. What makes the book special, aside from the fact that it’s Anne’s work as a published author, is that it was made in collaboration with UNICEF Philippines.   

ALDEN RICHARDS

In 2016, Alden Richards was at a peak thanks to the historic hype of AlDub. With everyone talking about the actor, he decided to share his story with his memoir appropriately titled Alden: In My Own Words. The book chronicles the then 24-year-old actor’s journey to stardom, peeks into his life behind the cameras, and delves into who he is as a person. Acting, singing, hosting, running businesses in F&B and esports, being a published author, and now studying to be a pilot, Alden really has his bases covered.

BRETMAN ROCK

Aside from his unapologetic baddie behavior on social media, Bretman Rock also has his fair share of ups and downs, with those experiences and lessons molding him into the icon he is today. It’s these stories he shares in his book, which he released in February 2023, You’re That Bitch & Other Cute Lessons About Being Unapologetically Yourself. In it, Bretman peels back layers of himself he rarely shows to the world as he opens up about his life, growing up in the Philippines, being an immigrant, his love life, and much more. It’s a must-read for any Bretman Rock fan, and not just because it gave us his iconic Manila press tour

BIANCA GONZALEZ

Bianca Gonzalez knew exactly what she was doing when she named her self-help book Paano Ba ‘To?!. Released in 2014, the book was filled with the seasoned TV host’s knowledge, wisdom, and insight on growing up. It became a go-to for many young people as it answered questions that the youth normally don’t get answers to. From dealing with family pressure to finding your purpose, the book discusses it all. It was so successful that it spawned the equally popular Paano Ba ‘To podcast and YouTube series.
