TWICE’s newest mini-album is called Taste of Love and this will be their 10th mini-album. This will be their latest Korean release after they dropped their second studio album, Eyes Wide Open, in late 2020. This will also be the newest music from TWICE since they released their Japanese single Kura-Kura last month. Rumors of the group preparing for a comeback actually started around April when Korean news outlets reported that TWICE was spotted filming something in Jeju Island. JYP Entertainment then released a statement saying that the group was filming a music video for their comeback and confirmed that they were preparing to release an album in June. This comeback will include all the members, including Jeongyeon, who took a break at the end of 2020.

If you decide to buy the physical version of the album, it will come with the following: a cover sleeve that comes in either the Taste, Fallen, or In Love version of the album, a photo book, the CD, a booklet, a lenticular photocard (random 1 of 9), a tasting card (random 1 of 9), a coaster (random 1 of 9), and photo cards (random 5 of 45). If you or would like to pre-order the album, you will also get a photocard set that changes depending on the version of the album you get, and a poster. Pre-ordering the Target version of the album will also get an exclusive bookmark (random 1 of 9). Pre-orders are currently open, and Taste of Love is set for release on June 11, 12 PM, PH time.

Title Track

The title track of the album is called Alcohol-Free and serves as the lead single for this comeback. Unlike in past releases, the music video for Alcohol-Free will drop first followed by the album. The MV was released on June 9, 5 PM, PH time. There were 2 teasers released for the music video. From what we’ve seen, TWICE is giving us a summer bop with tropical and island-inspired sounds and visuals.

The Track List

Taste of Love will have seven songs. They are as follows: title track Alcohol-Free, First Time, Scandal Conversation, Baby Blue Love, SOS, and Cry For Me (English version), which was TWICE’s surprise single release at the end of 2020. Alcohol-Free was written, composed, and arranged by J.Y. Park himself, which is something he has done before with some of TWICE’s other comeback single.

First Time has Little Mix member Jade Thirlwall credited as one of the song’s composers. In a tweet on Little Mix’s official Twitter account, Jade explained that she wrote First Time a few years ago with producer RED triangle (who is also credited on the song). Jade explained that she held on to the song since it was so special for her and was waiting for a proper moment for the song to get its moments and feels that TWICE is using it for their album.

Other Activities

Aside from the new music video and mini-album, this week sees TWICE doing quite a few activities related to and separate from their comeback. On June 9, 11 AM, PH time, the group had a comeback premier show which you can stream on their YouTube channel. There also released an album sneak peek on June 9, Wednesday, which was a video with snippets of each song.

June 9 is also the release of Alcohol-Free and will have their first comeback stage for the song on the Ellen show. On June 11, Friday, there will also be an Enhanced version of the album available to stream on Spotify. To top it all off, a new commercial featuring TWICE was released in collaboration with Nintendo as we see the girls play the Nintendo Switch game Miitopia.
