The team agreed: it was the fanciest boodle fight spread we’ve ever seen. Catering and events company YDEA Concepto Events and Management brought nothing less than a feast to our Hot Tropic summer party last April, and gave the night some immaculate vibes as everyone took part in one of the oldest, most wonderful human practices—bonding over a delicious meal.

The events service pulled out all the stops, from a wide selection of surf and turf to extravagant flower arrangements.
SURF & TURF
The spread was perfect for a warm night on the beach—fresh, savory, and delectable. From the fresh seafood selection of fried tilapia, shrimp, crab, squid, and mussels, to the flavorful liempo and chicken, our palates shifted from the sea to the land with every bite. Each guest had a mound of rice (meticulously shaped) on the banana leaves covering the table, with a few surf and turf bites around it, spread across the banquet were plates of the various selections, where anyone can just reach over and grab a piece, in true boodle fight style.
A FOREST OF FOOD
YDEA Concepto Events and Management didn’t just provide us with the fanciest boodle fight you ever did see, but they did it in the most extra way possible. Lofted above serving plates of the seafood were risers stacked with extra rice (this is a Filipino meal, after all), cucumber and tomato salad, itlog na maalat, and more.
Every inch was decked out in greenery, making you feel like you’re looking through foliage every time you reach for more food. It was very social, as well, with guests standing up and looking through the greenery, asking if the other side of the table had more crab or shrimp or liempo. True bonding moments.
DESSERTS AND DRINKS GALORE
Speaking of more food, the packed tables also held ramekins of mixed fruit, complete with strawberries, oranges, kiwis, and grapes, and trays of sweet sliced mango. The tiny cups of coconut custard were a burst of sweetness, too. Perfect palate cleansers to get yourself ready for round two. And of course, a hot summer evening would be made even better by some cool refreshers. There was an abundance of drink options, from melon juice to gulaman.
OH, THE ELEGANCE
With the flickering candles and the tropical flower arrangements adorning the banquet tables, YDEA Concepto provided an elegant, but still lowkey welcome dinner to all guests of the Hot Tropic summer party. Everyone had a good time, piling their banana leaves high with food and chatting in the warmth and soft light.
The food was perfectly elevated by the grand table settings, and YDEA showed that they knew how to put together all the little details to create a pleasant, inviting ambiance. Spot the vegetable rosette decorations and branches of leaves woven through the serving risers! They knew the impact of presentation, and proved they knew not just how to serve, but they knew how to serve.
