Uplifting and supporting the notion of “P-pop rise” as P-pop groups earn their flowers over the past few years brings local talent to new levels of success and recognition and highlights the skills of our own Filipino artists. As more people discover and appreciate P-pop acts, “You Go, I Go” is a great name for a group right in the throngs of the rising P-pop wave. YGIG, whose name means exactly that, is a P-pop girl group two years into their career and making a run for success.
Though they’ve got a ways to go, YGIG is one of those under-the-radar (for now) groups that catch your attention now and then, and you get curious. Composed of Vien, Jewel, Hazelyn, Maeg, and Alexei, the group pulls you in with some great visuals, catchy tunes, and engaging performances.
Consistently grinding even before they debuted, YGIG wants to represent Filipina talent on the global stage—and we can’t really say they haven’t, given their historic performance at WATERBOMB—which may have even been the moment that made you want to stan the girl group. If you want to know more about YGIG, or if you need some convincing to stan, all you need to do is scroll on.

Totally surprising everyone back home, YGIG made all eyes turn to them as they became the first Filipino act to perform at the South Korea-based water-themed music festival WATERBOMB! YGIG performed in the Incheon edition of the festival, along with their brother group PLUUS. No big deal, just P-pop groups out here making history.

From showing off their wordplay skills in their music (SHABA being “siya ba?”) to performing at water-themed music festivals, YGIG knows how to explore the fun, unique side of things. The members also have tons of personality, charming everyone with their humor and vibe.
TALENT FOR DAYS
From vocals to dance skills, YGIG pretty much delivers everything you’d want and need. Having trained under SBTown for years before they debuted, they’ve been able to hone their talents well. Their vocals and vibe during their live shows and performances get people who just discovered them already recommending them to other people!

In the couple of years YGIG has been on the scene, they’ve shown they’ve got style, swagger, and a sense of being able to switch from one vibe to another. From the sweet and refreshing DOOB DOOB to the moody and edgy BB, they’ve proven that they can be versatile performers—the best musicians are, since they can offer a lot of different things to different people.
THEY’RE NOT AFRAID TO TRY NEW THINGS
Did you know that YGIG are credited as writers on their debut song? Besides just being down for different concepts and musical styles, YGIG are trying to do things pretty differently. Of, course, it’s part of the job to get themselves everywhere, but being able to be open to exploring different things, even while faced with the threat of failing, in an effort to express the best of themselves and capture attention is an admirable trait in artists.
