Marian Rivera is a lot of things, and having the ability to capture the pulse of the pop culture zeitgeist is one of them. Whether intentionally or not, Marian naturally knows how to give those moments that are destined to go viral on social media, and we love her even more for that. If she isn’t leading movies and teleseryes, she’s providing social media with viral-worthy content that many content creators can only dream of. Who’s doing it like her? Check out some of Marian Rivera’s most iconic moments that had netizens in a chokehold.

HER TIKTOK VIDEO THAT TOOK OVER THE FYP

The definition of “You just had to be there”. Among Marian’s many viral TikTok videos, this one stands tallest, and for good reason. In her simple yet chic OOTD, Marian took over millions of FYPs as she danced to Jessie J’s Price Tag. How viral did it go? As of this writing, the video has a jaw-dropping 200 million views and 14.9 million likes.

HER LEGENDARY PRANK ON IVANA ALAWI

Marian had a role to play, and she did it flawlessly. In a video on Ivana Alawai’s YouTube channel, she and Marian were supposed to have a crab mukbang while answering. Things went sideways quickly though as Marian activated her inner mataray that would have anyone frozen in place. It got so bad that Ivana was reduced to tears by the end. But it turns out that it was just an epic prank pulled on Ivana by her sister with the A-list actress as her accomplice. The way everything came together, especially on Marian’s part, was just *chef’s kiss*.

HER ENGLISH Q&A TRANSLATION

We love a multi-hyphenate queen. Marian was one of the judges at the Century Tuna Superbods 2024 competition. During the Q&A portion of the fitness event, she read out a question in Tagalog to contestant Jether Palomo, who won the competition. When he asked for an English translation, Marian gamely translated it into English herself, which was half serious, half dogshow. After translating, Marian said, “I think you understand that,” to applause and laughs from the audience and netizens.

THE INTERNET’S NEW FAVORITE REACTION VIDEO

TBH, some of the best viral content are the ones that aren’t intentional. Case in point: this moment during Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes’ interview with Ogie Diaz. When Ogie commented that people didn’t want to be near Dingdong because of the attitude people assume Marian to have, she responded, “Mabuti naman,” did a shocked gasp, and then IJBOLed with Ogie. Thus, a new reaction video for Pinoy Twitter was born.

RECREATING HER ICONIC MARIMAR LOOK

You know Marian Rivera can slay a throwback, as seen with her doing the dance challenge to her song Sabay Sabay Tayo. So, for her take on the Asoka challenge, she gave netizens what they wanted and used the makeup challenge to transform into her character from the 2007 hit teleserye Marimar, and all set to the tune of the series intro.

BONUS: AI MARIAN

If you’re somewhat chronically online, you’ve probably seen this viral and lowkey hilarious video of Marian’s interview being seamlessly translated from Tagalog to English, French, and then Japanese via an AI video translate app. While the actress didn’t speak different languages during that interview, what’s stopping her from learning how to do so? She can already speak a little French.
