After months of hype, anticipation, and voting, the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 competition has come to an end. Unlike years past, this year’s pageant felt particularly close thanks to a number of high-profile and high-caliber queens who entered the competition. Over the past weeks, fans and pageant lovers were divided on who they think deserved the crown. But in the end, it was Miss Cebu City, Beatrice Gomez, who was crowned as the new Miss Universe Philippines 2021. In doing so, Beatrice became the first member of the LGBTQIA+ community to win the MUP competition.
