We are more or less halfway through November, but it still hasn’t let up when it came to giving us new music to enjoy. Among other things that happened this week, BINI and BGYO had their first-ever sibling concert while the nominees for the 2021 Melon Music Awards have been announced. Of course, the week didn’t disappoint when it came to new music with some heavy hitters finally settling in our playlist. Here are the new bangers of the week that you should know about.

All Too Well (Taylor’s Version) – Taylor Swift

The time has finally come. Taylor Swift has dropped Red (Taylor’s Version), which includes her versions of the old Red album including the full 10-minute version of All Too Well and nine new tracks from the vault. And just like that, it feels like the fall of 2012 all over again. It’s a good thing Taylor dropped the song near the weekend so we can spend it fighting with our non-existent ex.

Yours – BTS’s Jin

Jin dropped his latest song for an OST with Yours. The track serves as the official theme song for the show Jirisan and wonderfully shows off Jin’s magical voice. It also is further proof of how underrated Jin is as a vocalist.

Blast Off – Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, and Silk Sonic

An evening with Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak? Yes, please. The duo has finally dropped their highly anticipated first album as a group called An Evening With Silk Sonic. While it’s relatively light at only nine songs, at least they are all equally good.

SCIENTIST – TWICE

TWICE doesn’t want people to overcomplicate love in their latest comeback, SCIENTIST. The upbeat pop track sees the girl group let out their inner scientist as they sing about how love shouldn’t feel like a science experiment. The group also dropped their third full-length debut album, Formula of Love, with over 16 new tracks.

I Want U – No Rome

No Rome is a Filipino artist making waves in the international music scene. And he just released his new single I Want U this week. Originally written in the back of a tour bus in Las Vegas, but never progressed beyond a demo, Rome picked the single back up last summer in Manila, and this time it clicked. The final version features some of Rome’s finest lyricism to date and includes a host of found sounds in the beat.

The second single is taken from No Rome’s much-anticipated debut album, All Smiles, set for release on December 3. Recorded in a small apartment in No Rome’s hometown of Manila after the pandemic prevented him from returning to London, the album was co-produced by Rome with BJ Burton (Kanye West, Bon Iver, Charli XCX) and George Daniel (The 1975).

LA FAMA – ROSALIA and The Weeknd

The Weeknd has been on a roll lately. First, he collabs with Ariana Grande. Then, he works with Swedish House Mafia followed by Post Malone. And now, he teams up with ROSALIA for their new song together, LA FAMA. What’s even better about the spicy song is that The Weeknd sings the song in full Spanish.

Last Breath – Mark Tuan

Mark Tuan released his new single this week called Last Breath. The R&B-inspired track sees Mark sing about being suffocated by his significant other in their relationship and wanting to cut things off.

COSMOS – B.I

Former Ikon member B.I is out with new music this week with the release of his comeback single, COSMOS. The fun, upbeat, and euphoric song is meant to uplift listeners with its positive message. He also dropped his second album of the year with COSMOS and it’s worth the listen.

Be Alive – Beyoncé

Your eyes are deceiving you. Beyoncé released new music this week with her new track, Be Alive. The song comes from the OST of King Richard, the biopic about the life of Serena and Venus Williams and their father. It’s so nice to have new Beyoncé music and the track is a showcase of her vocal prowess.

Own It – Nadine Lustre, James Reid, and Massiah

Three of CARELESS’ biggest stars, Nadine Lustre, James Reid, and Massiah, come together for this special collab. Own It is a pop-house beat track that sees the three stars sing about living your life. While the song is for a commercial for Yamaha Philippines, the three of them still sound good on the track.

Bite Me – Avril Lavigne

The queen of early 2000s pop-rock is back and better than ever. Avril Lavigne just dropped her newest single, Bite Me, and it’s a satisfying callback to Avril’s signature pop-rock sound. We can’t wait to see what else Avril has in store for this new era of hers.

Harana Sa Sarili – Kiyo

Pinoy rapper Kiyo finds value in celebrating the simple joys of living on his new single, Harana Sa Sarili. Waxing poetic about self-worth, the Filipino hip-hop artist expresses gratitude for surviving life’s harshest challenges and being able to give back to supporters who have been with him throughout his music journey. Exploring smooth, lo-fi sounds with colorful production, Kiyo thrives in the realm of optimism and earnestness, revealing bits and pieces of his personal life to rousing effect. The track is taken from Kiyo’s anticipated 15-track debut album, Haranasa: Sa’yo at Sa Akin, which is slated to drop on November 26.

No – Little Mix

To celebrate their 10 years as a group, Little Mix just dropped their latest album, Between Us. Aside from this, the top-selling group also dropped a new single, No. The track is an edgy electro-pop banger about standing firm and saying no in a relationship.

Natataranta – LITZ

There’s a new P-pop girl group in town and their name is LITZ. An abbreviation of Life In The Sunshine, LITZ is Viva’s newest girl group and is looking to make noise with their pre-debut single, Natataranta. A cover of James Reid’s song of the same name, their version of the track features a more fierce and upbeat pop sound. It even comes with a dance break.

Probinsyana – VVS Collective

Local hip-hop quartet VVS Collective pays tribute to the women of the countryside whose distinct looks, effortless grace, and captivating intelligence redefine conventional standards of beauty in their new song, Probinsyana. On their lilting anthem, the rap crew delivers a romantic serenade for every country girl who took their breath away in recent years. The track also takes a stand against urbanite snobbery and Manila-centrism in a song that celebrates women of all kinds, regardless of their geographical, and social background.

Una – the vowels they orbit

Indie-pop group the vowels they orbit reflects on the struggles of first heartbreak on their new song, Una. The emotional guitar-rock tune serves as the first single off their upcoming sophomore EP.
