As we know, March is Women’s History Month, or simply Women’s Month, a celebration and commemoration of women that should extend beyond the margins of the month. During this time, there are plenty of opportunities to connect with women’s history and culture, bond with the women in your life, champion female strength, and let your creative juices flow. Women can even enjoy some perks and privileges from establishments and organizations! Check out these places and activities where you can deepen your learning and appreciation for women and womanhood this March.
VISIT THE FIRST WOMEN’S MUSEUM IN THE PH

The Tandang Sora Women’s Museum in Quezon City, named after and dedicated to the revolutionary hero Melchora Aquino, is the first women’s museum in the country. Head on over to Banlat road in QC to immerse yourself in a place that celebrates Filipino women’s lives and contributions to history, as well as commemorates the struggle for women’s and Filipinos’ liberation.
ENJOY MUSIC AND PERFORMANCES
Girl group stans, rise! Rising P-pop acts like CALISTA and Pix!e are headed to SM City Pampanga for a Girl Power celebration of music and performances. It’s free admission, you only have to register through the SM Malls Online app to pre-register.
MAKE USE OF SOME PERKS AND FREEBIES!
For once, women will be privileged! Kidding aside, the Philippine Commission on Women is providing some pretty good deals and treats with their Serbisyo Para kay Juana campaign for the month of March. From free entries to museums and parks to discounts, free Theoretical Driving Courses from the LTO to free training sessions for business owners, there are plenty of perks for women to enjoy. More institutions and companies also have their own initiatives, so be sure to check them out.
GET MOVING
Do some self-care this Women’s Month and beyond! Indoor climbing and bouldering gym Climb Central Manila in Mandaluyong is hosting a slew of women-centered events this March. From talks to climbing classes and sessions to clothing swaps, they’re encouraging you to get moving and be part of a community that’s taking over the Metro.
If climbing’s not your thing, Saddle Row, an indoor cycling and rowing gym with branches in Makati and BGC, also has themed workout sessions for Women’s Month.
Don’t worry, we’ve also got an option for those of you who’d rather not go to workout sessions! The March Move Challenge, part of the Move for Equity campaign led by NGO Girls Got This, encourages you to walk or run not just for your health, but also for an advocacy worth supporting.
IMMERSE YOURSELF IN SOME CULTURE
From walking tours to workshops, film screenings to exhibits, there’s a bunch of activities to do in Manila thanks to the Intramuros Administration. Clear your schedules and book a date, because there’s plenty of sights, performances, and culture of our own to see and experience this Women’s Month.
CHAMPION “FOR WOMEN, BY WOMEN”
What’s better than shopping local? Shopping local and women-led. If you’re Atenean, support these businesses at March of Women’s Business and Art Fair on March 12 to 14 at the SEC Field at Ateneo de Manila University. Buy art, clothing, accessories, and more and shop for a cause.
CELEBRATE OR CRAFT WITH YOUR BESTIES
Grab your bestest friends, roll up your sleeves, and get crafty at UP Town Center from March 7 to 13 with their Bestie Behavior event. From making bow bags to vision boards, there’s nothing like celebrating girlhood and friendships with the women and girls in your life.
SM Center Las Piñas is also offering activities and workshops this month—and they’ve got something for everyone. They’re celebrating women’s strength, style, and stories with a variety of sessions and activities for you to try out. Make candles, shop local, shape clay, head to career fairs, take up a sport, and more all month long.
APPRECIATE ART MADE BY FILIPINO WOMEN
Explore the minds and creative endeavors of Filipina artists at the all-women art exhibit at Kapitolyo Art Space in Pasig! BLOOM the exhibit will showcase the artwork of several women artists at the Space starting March 15 to April 5. Plenty of artists are also showcasing their work at exhibits all around the Metro—don’t sleep on them! With a variety of themes, forms, and meanings, you don’t even have to be an ultra-art buff to appreciate the talent and skill of these women artists.
