The drama, storyline, bardagulan, memes, production? If the premiere is anything to go by, we have high hopes for Drag Race Philippines season 3.

It’s time to rev up those engines again as the third season of Drag Race Philippines is finally here. We have a new batch of Filipino queens to follow and potentially fall in love with, and going by how episode one went, that won’t be hard to do. This season’s diverse queens so far look to give us the looks, comedy, drama, camp, and Pinoy drag excellence we’ve come to expect from the show.
Already we have our eye on early faves and dark horses of the competition. If that’s how episode one went, who knows what else this season will bring. A taste of what’s to come we fear. Scroll down for some of our favorite moments of the first episode that had us even more excited for season three.
THE POP CULTURE REFERENCES
No season of Drag Race is complete without the pop culture references, and Drag Race PH season 3 already delivered with the first episode. Some notable references include Khianna serving Kitana realness and J Quinn channeling aespa with their entrance looks. And peep J Quinn’s D.Va jumpsuit during the voguing mini-challenge.
ZYMBA DING’S STORY
we love you, zymba!! thank you for this moving story 🥹#DragRacePH @Zymba_Ding pic.twitter.com/KXESW8f4t7

Zymba Ding not only proved herself as a potential frontrunner with the first episode, but she also had many shedding tears with her runway look. The episode’s runway category was Hometown Realness, and Zymba donned an outfit inspired by her hometown’s history with leprosy and the fact that her parents both had leprosy. It was a moving and touching tribute to how your background shouldn’t define you or hinder your potential.
THE RETURN OF THE DRAG RACE PH QUEENS
THE WAY THESE QUEENS CAN PASS AS THE CAST OF DRPH ALL STARS?!#DragRacePH pic.twitter.com/3U7qgeHQ6Z

Having the queens do a voguing mini-challenge was already fun as it is. But inviting past queens from previous seasons to be the judges? Now that’s getting tens across the board. From Viñas’ upgrade from a towel to a Drag Race PH alumni tee to Minty Fresh’s face card that spoke a thousand words, it made for a memorable segment.

As the pop culture queen of the Philippines, it was only a matter of time before Jolina Magdangal would be a guest judge on Drag Race Philippines. Not only was she the guest on the premiere episode, but she also walked into the Werkroom like a contestant ala Lady Gaga in the first episode of season 9 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The producers ate with that idea.
MAMA PAO’S MAIN STAGE LOOK
During season two, Mama Pao’s main stage looks were, let’s just say, a series of choices. But right out of the gate, Mama Pao looks to be getting her Rudepmtion with that stunning white gown and floral headpiece. And the best part? She made it herself. We have a feeling Mama Pao isn’t going to disappoint with the looks this season.
THE LIP SYNC FOR THE WIN
first lip sync of the season did NOT disappoint #DragRacePH pic.twitter.com/Dv0E8q7lul

While it would have been nice to have Chuva Choo Choo as the lip sync song given that Jolina was right there, MayMay Entrata’s Puede Ba still gave. And did Khianna and Zymba Ding give in the first iconic lip sync of the season. We already have two potential lip sync assassins to watch out for. And, it served as a nice capstone for Khianna in how she won the mini and maxi challenge and lip sync for doing the most after being criticized by some of the queens for doing the most.
