While the fame and fortune of being a celebrity are real, they also don’t last forever. That is why quite a few stars turn to other avenues to expand their portfolios and get that extra revenue stream. And for some, that means investing and launching their own resorts and Airbnbs. These locations offer guests to experience their vision of escape, rest, and relaxation. Plus, it’s always a good icebreaker to say that you’ve slept in a home owned by a celebrity. As the summer season has got us itching to travel, these following celeb-owned resorts and Airbnbs offer enticing vacation stays.
THE BARRETTO’S RIVER GARDEN REST HOUSE
Tucked away in Calumpit, Bulacan is the Barretto family villa called River Garden Rest House. Situated along the Angat River, the property was initially bought by the family over 20 years ago. Ever since, it has become one of Marjorie’s pet projects as she continuously built the home into how it stands today. And it’s also a home that can be rented on Airbnb.
It is just an hour’s drive from Manila via NLEX, making for a relatively quick trip. Once there, lush greenery welcomes guests, making them immediately feel at one with nature. Guests have an unobstructed view of the Angat River where a gazebo on the private property can let them enjoy the gorgeous views that are worthy of the Gram.
The property has a total of four rooms, and in line with the nature theme, each one is named after a flower (Sampaguita, Santan, Gumamela, and Bougainvillea). The Sampaguita Room is the master’s suite, while the Santan Room has a view of the Angat River. All told, the four rooms can house up to fifteen people. Amenities, such as a private pool, a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen, and multiple dining areas are present. And to top it all off, caretakers and staff will be there to help you with your needs.
KATHRYN BERNARDO AND PIOLO PASCUAL’S ISLA AMARA
El Nido, Palawan is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the Philippines. As such, there are many options for visitors to choose from in terms of accommodations on the island. The Filipino-inspired resort mixes a simple yet inviting aesthetic with the picturesque nature of Palawan.
There are a total of 42 rooms guests can book. Possible options include a garden-view villa, a poolside room with a terrace, and a family room. At the center of the resort is a swimming pool surrounded by lush greenery and chairs. Guests are free to lounge underneath the blue skies. If your stomach starts grumbling, an al fresco bar awaits you with an assortment of dishes, meals, and drinks.
And you also don’t need to walk far to get to the nearest sun, sand, and sea escape as the Lio beach is just a one-minute walk away from the resort. While it’s more on the low-key side as compared to the other resorts in the area, it has a vibe that’s great for those looking to wind down.
