The sixth edition of the International Film Industry Conference provides local film workers a platform to hone their craft and become world-class creators.

There’s no questioning the fact that Filipino film workers need and deserve all of the support from the audience to governmental institutions. In an industry that continues to grow and evolve, especially in the age of streaming and globalization, local filmmakers should be able to have access to different opportunities to learn and improve themselves and to catch up with the growing demand for content. Thankfully, with this year’s International Film Industry Conference (IFIC), Filipino film professionals and enthusiasts will have the opportunity to upskill, expand their network, and get much-needed insight into the film industry here in the Philippines.

MAKE YOUR MARK

An initiative from the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), IFIC was first launched in 2017 with an aim to bring together local and international industry professionals and experts to discuss the latest trends, developments, platforms, and cooperation opportunities that will significantly help aspiring filmmakers and producers.

On its sixth edition, the International Film Industry Conference collaborates with the QCinema International Film Festival and Full Circle Lab Philippines in a hybrid program that seeks to uplift the local film industry. With its theme, Make Your Mark, IFIC promises film workers, film students, and enthusiasts alike to equip them with the ideal tools and take them to the next level of filmmaking.

This year, IFIC has prepared public sessions, masterclasses, and a workshop series tailored to fit today’s trends and developments in the industry. In furthering its promotion of regional and international synergy in the filmmaking industry, IFIC’s public sessions will revolve around timely themes like creating and funding documentary films, the rise of streaming platforms in the country, and incentive opportunities for Filipino filmmakers.

There will also be a roundtable discussion with the ASEAN-Republic of Korea film commissions and agencies, which will highlight the global opportunities for the Southeast Asian film industry. These public sessions and the keynote address by FDCP Chairman & CEO Tirso S. Cruz III will be free and open to the public onsite and online.

For film professionals and enthusiasts who want to gain a deeper understanding of the film industry’s inner workings, IFIC has also prepared in-depth masterclasses that tackle specific topics like film co-productions, models of film distribution, and how to market your films in the global marketplace. You can avail of one masterclass for PHP 1000 or USD 17 or a package of all three masterclasses for P2500 or US $42.

The sixth International Film Industry Conference will run from November 18 to 20, 2022 in a hybrid format. The physical activities will be held at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Quezon City while a simulcast of the events will be streamed via Zoom and Facebook, to cater to regional and international audiences.

Whether you are a budding filmmaker or a passionate film student, this is your chance to learn more about your craft and make your mark in the film industry.
