RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 6 is just around the corner, so we compiled a wish list of the things we want to see in the new season.

Once again, a new RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars season is upon us with All-Stars 6. The spin-off series is set to return with a new batch of returning queens who are ready to show the world their new and improved selves. While past All-Stars season has been met with some criticism, All-Stars 6 looks to be different given that there are more queens this season and who Drag Race decided to bring back. Here are the 7 things we want to see in RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars Season 6.
Exciting Drama
Drag Race has always delivered when it comes to drama (some seasons more than others), but All-Stars 6 could be the most dramatic yet. Eureka, Ginger Minj, Rajah O’Hara, and Silky Nutmeg Ganache are all set to appear in the same season. Each one of them brought the drama during their respective seasons, now imagine what would happen when you put all of them together in the same room. Add to the fact that the queens will be voting each other off just ratchets up the tension. We may be in for some exciting TV this season. But it is also important to remember to NOT send hate to the queens because at the end of the day, it’s just a TV show.
Queens done dirty by All-Stars 1 get a second chance
All-Stars 1 had an amazing cast of 12 queens. But all that talent was ruined because of the decision for them to compete in teams which made for an underwhelming season. Luckily, Drag Race never did teams again (and they never should). In All-Stars 6, a few queens who were done dirty by the team dynamic of All-Stars 1 now have a chance to truly show off their skills. Pandora Boxx was famously, or should we say infamously, paired with Mimi Imfurst in All-Stars 1 and they went home first. But now, she has the chance to show her skills. The same goes for Yara Sofia as even though the pairing between her and Alexis Matteo was a strong team, they never made it to the finale. We can’t wait to see what these two queens have in store.
More Trans Representation
It is undeniable that Drag Race has been a force for the LGBTQIA+ community not only in the US but around the world. That doesn’t mean though that Drag Race has been a perfect ally, especially to certain sections of the community, such as the transgender community. The early seasons of the show featured transphobic prejudice and for a time, RuPaul did not want trans queens to compete on the show. Drag Race though is slowly changing its ways. Gottmik’s placement on season 13 and subsequent popularity has shown that trans queens have a place on the show. For All-Stars 6, we’re getting two trans queens on the show: Kylie Sonique Love and Jiggly Caliente. It’s so nice to see more trans queens on the show and we hope more queens from different parts of the community get on the show in the future.
Better Challenges
All-Stars is not only the chance for the queens to return, but to also show how much they have changed, and really show what they’ve got. But the problem is that the challenges featured on All-Stars tend to be less than great. This is a problem most noticeable in the later seasons of All-Stars. We don’t want to see the queen makeover a club or hotel room. That is not fun more exciting to watch. We want to see design challenges and maybe even a ball that has three looks instead of two. We want better challenges that truly highlight the talents of the queens. The last thing we want to see is the queens filming a commercial for dog food.
All-Stars 6 will have 13 queens instead of the usual 10 so hopefully, Drag Race will have some new, exciting, and relevant challenges for the queens to do. And we hope that the show won’t feel the need to rush the series. Based on the trailer, it seems that the talent show will actually be a talent show that features real talent so that has got us excited.
A True Race
Unlike past All-Stars seasons, no one queen among the line-up is considered as a true front runner. It’s not like Shea Coulee in All-Stars 5 where everyone knew that she would win. All-Stars 6 truly feels like a race because you don’t really know who the clear front runner is or who is going to make it to the top 4. Some of the queens did make it to the finale of their respective season while others have large fanbases, but there really isn’t a queen that has everyone saying she’s going to win. We feel that this will make for an exciting season as we tune in every week to see who does well and who doesn’t. Hopefully, Drag Race won’t play favorites and just let the queens be themselves.
Ru-demption for the queens
As stated before, All-Stars is the place for queens who redeem themselves from their original season and to unleash their full potential. In All-Stars 6, a lot of the queens are there to redeem themselves but were most looking forward to Trinity K. Bonet and Jiggly Caliente. Trinity had so much potential on season 6, she had the looks, was the lip-sync assassin of the season, and could surprise people with her versatility. From then until today, Trinity has grown so much, and we know she has so much to offer this season. The same goes for Jiggly as even though she might have had a few questionable looks in season 4, she had an amazing and memorable personality. Jiggly’s glow-up has been amazing and we’re hopeful that she is able to shine in All-Stars 6.
More Lip Sync Assassins
The twist introduced in All-Stars 5 that the top queen of the week would have to lip-sync against a lip sync assassin was interesting, but for All-Stars 6, we want to see more lip-sync assassins. Despite being an obvious choice, Coco Montrese was not invited to be an assassin so we’re hopeful Drag Race corrects that error this time around. We would also like to see Dida Ritz, Peppermint and Kameron Michaels return as lip-sync assassins because they were branded as such in their respective season. Since All-Stars 6 is a longer season, maybe Drag Race could also invite Alyssa Edwards and Kennedy Davenport back since even though they were on All-Stars 5, the songs they lip-synced to were not their style, especially for Kennedy.
