Apart from being a K-pop star and a fashion icon, Sandara Park is also a natural when it comes to hosting.
For K-pop stans, she’s the “fresh vocals” of the iconic girl group 2NE1. For Filipinos, she’s the country’s beloved “Pamabansang Krung-krung” that’s always repped her Pinoy roots like no other. Sandara Park has always been a household name in the international entertainment industry. But did you know that apart from being an all-around performer and a fashion icon, she is also a natural when it comes to hosting? Scroll down to see another side of Sandara Park as we go through some of her hosting career’s memorable moments.
TWO YOO PROJECT – SUGAR MAN
Sandara Park’s first hosting stint came during 2NE1’s hiatus in 2015. She became a regular MC of JTBC’s musical variety show Two Yoo – Sugar Man where the singer-actress was joined by renowned comedian and Running Man host Yoo Jae Suk, musician Yoo Hee Yeol and lyricist Kim Eana. It was quite a fruitful hosting debut for Dara with Sugar Man running for three seasons.
ONSTYLE’S GET IT BEAUTY
The fashion icon that she is, it’s just fitting that Sandara Park became one of the hosts of OnStyle’s Get It Beauty. Joined by model and beauty queen Honey Lee and singer Kim Se-jeong, Dara channeled her beauty guru self in the show, sharing skincare and wellness tips. Here’s one episode from 2017, where Dara had fun with BLACKPINK and learned more about their beauty regimens.
Dara’s South Korean television takeover continued when she joined the all-female hosting panel of MBC every1’s variety talk show Video Star in 2019. A spin-off series of the popular program Radio Star, Video Star was on-air for five seasons and featured over a hundred episodes where Sandara Park was joined by Park So Hyun, Kim Sook, Park Na Rae, interviewing some of K-pop’s hottest stars. Dara’s Video Star stint was a special one that even her former 2NE1 groupmates Park Bom, Minzy, and CL were thrilled for her.
ASIA SONG FESTIVAL 2021 (WITH GOT7’S BAMBAM)
Apart from being a mainstay in some local shows, Sandara Park’s hosting skills also shine in international music festivals. Just like in the Asia Song Festival in 2021, where Dara partnered with her fellow Abyss Company artist BamBam of GOT7, who also performed in the event. A big deal of a hosting gig for Dara with a big festival like this that featured top music acts from all around Asia. But as usual, she ate. You can watch the full event here.
ASEAN FANTASIA CONCERT
A 3000-strong audience from multicultural backgrounds? Well, Sandara Park’s hosting talent can surely handle that. In 2019, Dara emceed the ASEAN Fantasia concert in the city of Changwon, which aimed to celebrate the ASEAN-Korea Commemorative Summit. K-pop idols Psy and BOA, as well as NCT 127 took to the stage with Southeast Asian acts including the Thai wonder, Phum Viphurit.
GAYO DAEJEON 2013
In 2013, Sandara Park became an emcee of one of South Korea’s biggest televised music festivals, the SBS Gayo Daejeon. Her first time hosting the program, Dara was joined by local entertainer Sung Si Kyung and Super Junior member Kim Heechul. As a cherry on top, Dara also performed with the 2NE1 girls at the fest. What a night.
One of Sandara Park’s much recent hosting stints is STATV’s talk show Idol League. With her fellow emcee, BTOB’s Eunkwang, Dara spent some cute and memorable moment with some of K-pop’s biggest groups including Momoland, TREASURE, and ITZY, among others. Some of them even couldn’t help but fangirl and fanboy over the legendary Dara.

You’ll agree more that Sandara Park is a versatile host as she cannot only ace variety shows or music festivals. She can also hold a high-function event like the Philippines-South Korea state dinner in Seoul last 2018.
BONUS: PINOY BOYBAND SUPERSTAR
Also one of her first few television gigs was when she became a judge at ABS-CBN’s singing competition program, Pinoy Boyband Superstar. While she wasn’t the show’s host, it’s a special moment for the K-pop icon and our favorite krung-krung to join Vice Ganda, Yeng Constantino, and Aga Muhlach in their search for the next Pinoy boy group. It’s also a delightful treat for her stans as Dara turned the up the heat on the stage with her fiery performances. Just like in this episode-slash-solo concert where Dara owned us all.
