Well, it didn’t need ever after for this to happen, because during one fateful night, three viral dancing riders met Niana Guerrero.
If one was merely just mindlessly scrolling through TikTok a few nights back, as one does one in what eventually becomes an inordinate period of time, then the green screen post of Jomak Peladra was by no means thumb-stopping. “The collab you’ve been waiting for,” the caption read. With its mix of images and videos, which followed the quick narrative of traveling to a fairly far destination, it was eventually revealed that one of the viral stars of the SPC Dancing Riders (Ever After in McDonald’s ring a bell?) was on the way to meet social media superstar, Niana Guerrero. “See you in a bit,” the TikTok post rounded out.
On his TikTok account alone, Jomak Peladra has amassed 9.2 million likes, a sizable chunk of that from his viral dancing videos as a delivery rider for FoodPanda. But he is just one part of the TikTok movement in San Pablo City, Laguna (hence the name). Together with the rest of the SP Dancing Riders, as well as of from delivery riders, they have danced and charmed their way into the hearts of many, with Niana Guerrero herself calling them “lods.” Don’t worry though, because they only groove to the sound of the moment during booking lulls or order wait times, which can happen frequently, as you can imagine.
Who would’ve thought that the dance break of the viral dancing riders would lead to one of their idols, Niana Guerrero? Definitely not in their wildest dreams, but when the opportunity presented itself they took it and rode like the wind.
sheesh its not everyday that you get to collab with talented frontliners 🙌🏼❤️ @jomakpldra @siomaiatkwekwek @lloydiwapss galing nyo po!♬ Lay It Down – Lloyd
Happiness Is Free Delivery
“Sheesh, it’s not everyday that you get to collab with talented frontliners,” wrote Niana Guerrero on her post that showed her grooving with three of the viral dancing riders, Jomak Peladra, Lloyd Corsino, and Neil Alferez to Lay It Down. “Galing niyo po,” she says. In what the boys dubbed the best collab ever, they each got their time with Niana, too. From Ever After to Booty Wurk, they all basked in the glory of the moment, complete with the memorable house in the background. If this didn’t make you stop scrolling or click through the tags then you missed out on a lot of pure joy. “Sinulit ko na, syempre minsan lang ‘yan eh,” chides Jomak Peladra.
“Happiness is free delivery,” as is written on the viral SPC Dancing Riders Facebook page, as well as of their TikTok account. And true enough, it isn’t just the convenience that they are bringing to everyone amid the pandemic, but smiles and laughter that momentarily give reprieve to what is for lack of better words, a most stressful time in our lives. “Kaya po namin ginagawa ito, katulad nga po ngayon na pandemic po, alam naman po natin na halos lahat tao po ay medyo stressed po sa nangyayari po dito sa atin,” says Angelito Mañores, one of the members of the group to ABS-CBN News. “Kaya po ‘yung naisipan po naming lahat na gawin po itong pagti-TikTok para ‘yung good vibes po, mai-share po namin sa mga kababayan natin na medyo nalulungkot.”
Even after all the euphoria has come and gone, the three viral dancing riders, or should we say, stars, are still riding high from their encounter of a lifetime with Niana Guerrero. “Walang katumbas na saya,” they collectively agree. Well, people others happy deserve their own happiness, too. With the sacrifices these noble men have to go through on the daily to earn for their family, as well as to cater to the needs of a sizable population, this was a much-needed tip of the hat to these modern-day heroes. Until the next ride and dance, we will be watching out for the boys on TikTok.
