As of this writing, there are 17, yes 17, days left before voter registration ends for Halalan 2022. The good news is that the number of registered voters has surpassed 61 million. But there are still millions of Filipino who have not yet registered. Because of this, Comelec has implemented numerous ways to increase registration from creating an educational website to making an app and having satellite booths in malls.
But the push to register more people isn’t limited to just the government. The private sector has stepped in to help, too. From the many efforts, one of those was when 13 brands that range from popular apparel to local art shops joined together to launch a special initiative on September 10.
RAFFLE FOR NEWLY REGISTERED VOTERS
The group, composed of Commonwealth Philippines, Alima, Auggie Fontanilla, Bad Student, Chaiseng, Fortune WWD, Manila Community Radio, Nobody, Progress, Titan, Tenement, The Twelfth House, Freedom Print Lab, and UNSCHLD, simultaneously announced that they are going to raffle 100 limited-edition authenticated 40×78 inch hand-pulled silk-screen triptych prints to newly registered voters. The artworks were created by a group of local artists who were given a singular idea to create the large art piece. The triptych is meant to symbolize how “solidarity is crucial to creating our vision for the future.”
This is the first time that these 13 brands have collaborated on a single project, coming together to do their part in encouraging more registered voters. Along with the announcement of the raffle, the group also released a detailed guide on how to register to vote.
To be eligible for the raffle and win this one-of-a-kind art piece, you need to have registered to vote from January 1, 2020 – September 30, 2021, and have a valid acknowledgment receipt of your registration. Only one entry per raffle participant is allowed. To enter the raffle, fill out the form here. 100 winners will receive one set of 40 x 78-inch hand-pulled silk-screen triptych prints. Another 100 winners will receive one set of six A3 size risograph art prints. The winners of the raffle will be selected after the September 30 deadline. They will then be notified via the email they gave. So, if you haven’t registered to vote yet, you now have one more incentive to entice you to do so. Remember, at this crucial point, every effort counts.
