Known for her signature ponytail and pigtails, Bella Poarch is letting everyone know that she can look just as good sporting her natural hair if she wanted to.
Everyone goes through difficulty at some point in their lives. Contrary to popular belief, celebrities aren’t exempted from that fact. One of the very few stars open about their struggles is Bella Poarch. As glamorous as her life seems to be, she has expressed her trials and tribulations through what she knows best, music. Whether it’s the lyrics, or the production of her music videos, Bella never fails to express what she’s been through to her fans. And although she has mentioned numerous times that she continues to heal and grow from her trauma, there are certain battles that she goes through in silence, just like us.
In her latest EP, Dolls, she tackles mental health, and her struggles growing up in the Philippines. Additionally, she mentions that the album is about not letting the bullies get to you, to fight back, and to put your foot down.
Growing up from a traditional Filipino household, she was constantly told what to do, how to act, and what to wear. Due to the beauty standards in the Philippines, she was bullied for her natural curly hair. This explains why fans would normally see her sporting a slicked-up and tight pony hairstyle. As sickening as it looks, it’s probably not the most comfortable and practical do, for an everyday look. So just like in her EP where she finally puts her foot down, here are the rare moments Bella finally let her hair down—and we’re here for it.

Just like music, hair can be a form of expression, too. Bella Poarch is living proof that you can look just as good with your natural hair, as much as your signature look. Let her be your source of motivation to let your hair down once in a while, because there’s nothing wrong with how you look, or what you’re born with. Just like her, it’s time to let go of the standards that stopped us from being our true selves. Embracing your hair texture, straight, wavy, or curly, is what matters at the end of the day. Besides, there is nothing more liberating than letting your hair down.
