Just thinking about them makes us hungry.

Whether to quench our thirst or fill our stomachs, these food and drink picks were always reliable.

No matter how bad things get or when we’re feeling down, food never fails to lift our spirits. From the uncertainties of young adult life to dealing with this heat, the allure of our favorite meals, restaurants, snacks, sweet treats, and more cheered us up. Whether these were long-time faves we came back to this month or new dining discoveries that landed on our radar, check out our food and drink picks of April 2025.

KRISPY KREME’S FIZZY STRAWBERRY LEMONADE – RAFAEL BAUTISTA, DEPUTY EDITOR

As someone willing to go into battle to defend Krispy Kreme’s Strawberry Lemonade, I had to try the fizzy version. And it didn’t disappoint. While it’s a lot more indulgent than the original, it still refreshingly hits the spot. It’s like drinking strawberry-flavored soda but not as carbonated.

UMPAY’S – RAFAEL BAUTISTA, DEPUTY EDITOR

When I was in San Pablo, Laguna with my family for Holy Week, one of my relatives recommended we check out Umpay’s in Liliw. The restaurant may look unassuming from the outside but wow does the food pack a punch. Their East-West fusion menu runs the gamut from kebabs to salmon rice bowls, but they all hit the spot. My personal favorite was their four-cheese pizza, and their extensive drinks selection will satisfy any craving, from milkshakes to teas. San Pablo lowkey has a culinary scene worth exploring in Laguna, and Umpay’s is up there.

NERDS GUMMY CLUSTERS – GELO QUIJENCIO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

nerds gummy clusters

One of my workmates gave me a piece of this candy and I fell in love. The sweet gummy texture and the sour taste from Nerds is a perfect balance for a sweet and sour treat.

TAHO STORY – JAMES JACINTO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

The day I got introduced to Taho with Ice Cream at the office, I have been weirdly craving it since then. It’s definitely a great pick for a break-time snack, especially during these hot summer days.

BONUS: SABAI – RAFAEL BAUTISTA, DEPUTY EDITOR

SABAI THAI FOOD

Technically, this restaurant isn’t open yet, but I already have my eyes on it. This upcoming Thai restaurant in BGC is by the same people behind Uma Nota, and it’s location is even beside it. Sabai looks to marry modern Thai with deep authenticity, and I’m always down for that. Allegedly, there’s no Pad Thai on the menu, so at the very least, it has my curiosity about what it presents as Thai cuisine. Oh, and it also has private karaoke-ready dining rooms, so that’s a bonus.

When all else fails, these picks kept us excited to go through the month.

We all know the feeling of being too lazy to do anything when it’s too hot outside or the weather just isn’t cooperating. And that feeling was very much present throughout most of April. This humidity was not it. But we made it through, and for us, part of the reason why was these lifestyle picks. From trusty bags for summer travel to fun charms we showed off to our besties, these picks had our time and attention. Check out our April faves below.

RIMOWA ESSENTIAL SLEEVE IN ROSEWOOD – RAFAEL BAUTISTA, DEPUTY EDITOR

RIMOWA

I know, I know, RIMOWA isn’t cheap. But when it’s good, it’s good. The RIMOWA Essential Sleeve in Rosewood comes with the reliable functionality you expect from the brand, from a dual organization interior with a fully zipped compartment, an adjustable Flex Divider, stage-free telescopic handle, to a Multiwheel system. But it’s the design and color that does it for me. Rosewood, a warm, earthy pink hue with subtle depth, makes for a simple yet eye-catching design, and bonus points for it being available in both Cabin and Cabin Plus sizes.

NCT WISH poppop (WICHU Ver.) – GELO QUIJENCIO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

Imagine an anik-anik and an album in one—very cutesy and functional. The WICHU version 2’s color attracts me the most as someone who loves pastel colors. I love it when albums are leaning towards usability rather than being stored on a shelf and will eventually collect dust. This keychain is a piece from WISH that I can bring with me anywhere I go.

2NE1 X CASETIFY – JAMES JACINTO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

2NE1 CASETIFY

As someone still deep in PCD from last year’s Welcome Back concert stop, the 2NE1 X Casetify collab is not just helping me soothe the tears I still have from reliving fancams on my phone—but it’s also protecting my phone while doing it. I’m glad Tamtam also made it to the line-up of designs––you will always be famous, the iconic son of 2NE1!

NYLON MANILA PICKS MEDIA APRIL 2025

NYLON Manila Picks: The Media Of April 2025 That Had Us Yapping Non-Stop

Movie so good you become a natural yapper.

From movies to music and more, these entertainment options had our attention in April 2025.

Related: NYLON Manila Picks: The Media That Took Over Our Faves List This March 2025

Do you ever watch, listen, or experience something so good and life-changing that you just need to talk about it to your family, friends, classmates, and/or co-workers? Well, that was the case for us for these media options from April. These were just so good that it felt wrong if we didn’t talk about it with other people. Check out our favorite entertainment of the past month that needed their praises sung.

SINNERS – RAFAEL BAUTISTA, DEPUTY EDITOR

Coming into this movie, I expected a simple vampire film. But I was wrong, and I couldn’t have been happier. More than a vampire flick, Sinners is a celebration of black culture packaged in a 1930s American South aesthetic with vampire horror elements. It’s both my favorite horror movie of 2025 and film in general so far. From the acting, music, themes, direction, and more, it’s that good. I hope this movie has a good run in next year’s awards season.

PBB CELEBRITY COLLAB EDITION – RAFAEL BAUTISTA, DEPUTY EDITOR

Like many of us, I’ve fallen under the PBB spell, and it’s not just because my job requires me to be updated on Filipino pop culture. Never in my life have I ever followed a PBB season quite like this one. It’s an entertaining season with a colorful cast of characters I don’t mind investing time to follow their journeys. I even find myself catching the livestream every now and then.

SB19’S SIMULA AT WAKAS ALBUM – RAFAEL BAUTISTA, DEPUTY EDITOR

Well, did we expect anything less? SB19 came through with the finale to their trilogy in the form of a diverse body of work that weaves between ballad, pop, rock, and rap. DUNGKA! may just be one of my favorite songs the group has ever released. It’s been on repeat in my playlist ever since the album dropped.

THE KEVIN LANGUE SHOW – NICA GLORIOSO, FEATURES AND POP CULTURE WRITER

I’m a huge YouTube girl, and I love it when I discover new comedic long-form content. Although TikTok introduced me to this panel/guessing game show, it’s quickly become a fave!

NCT WISH IN MANILA – GELO QUIJENCIO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

NCT WISH

As a fan of NCT through and through, I couldn’t be more excited when NCT Wish went to Manila last April 11 and 12. They had a press con a day before their concert where they answered one of NYLON Manila’s questions, “What WISH do each of you have that you really want to come true?” Ryo mentioned his wish is to perform at the Philippine Arena in the future.

Fast forward to the main event, the concert, the New Frontier Theater was filled with screams and love for NCT Wish. What I loved the most about their concert was the production, their performances (live vocal kings), and how they incorporated Filipino language and pop culture in their set as they danced to GAT’s Daleng Dale, which was one of my highlights as a Filo NCTzen. Overall, I can’t wait for their next concert in Manila.

BLACK MIRROR SEASON 7 – GELO QUIJENCIO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

As a fan of unconventional reality, Black Mirror is a must series for me. I’ve religiously watched the season every drop, and now on its 7th season, I can say that Black Mirror is back. My favorite episodes are the first two, Bête Noire and Common People. I could yap all day about these episodes, and in particular about theories, hidden mickeys, and stuff that revolve around Black Mirror universe.

HERE FOR THE CAKE BY JENNIFER MILLIKIN – PRECY TAN, COPYWRITER

I love Here for the Cake by Jennifer Millikin because it’s the perfect summer escape—fake dating, enemies to lovers, and a dreamy island setting for a destination wedding. It has just the right mix of drama and heart to keep you hooked without feeling too heavy. If you’re in a reading slump, this one’s a great pick to ease back into the groove.

JANNABI’S SOUND OF MUSIC PT. 1 – JAMES JACINTO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

I don’t usually stan that much often in general, but when I do––like for this specific band in particular, I would literally die on a hill yapping about JANNABI. Their latest fourth album release, Sound of Music Pt. 1, reminded me exactly why I have been obsessed with them since the Monkey Hotel era. While Summer still lives in my heart and mind rent-free, All the Boys and Girls, Pt.2 : The Rainbow from their recent album would have to be my top pick from their recent release.

NYLON Manila Picks: The Beauty Buys That Actually Lived Up To The Hype In April 2025

Tried, tested, and true.

Curious if these products are worth the hype? We’ve tried them all and found the winners.

Related: A Gen Z’s Guide To A Sweat-Proof Summer Makeup Routine

It’s no secret that beauty hype can be hard to resist. With endless claims of miracle ingredients and must-have products flooding our feeds, it’s tempting to believe that the next trending item on TikTok will be the one that changes everything. More often than not, though, we end up with products that leave us with a sinking feeling of “Well, that was a waste.”

This month, we’re flipping the script. After giving a thorough test run to a handful of hyped-up beauty buys, the NYLON Manila team is excited to share the ones that actually delivered. From skincare to makeup, these products not only lived up to the excitement—they surpassed our expectations.

blk cosmetics 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲𝗿 – Precy Tan, Copywriter

I love the blk cosmetics 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲𝗿 because it feels extra special with the recent collaboration with THE Bretman Rock—his first with a local brand! Growing up, I remember eyeing all his collabs, so it’s amazing to see him bring his ~summer~ style to a Filipino brand.

Plus, it’s the only glow bronzer that doesn’t leave me shiny, giving me a natural, healthy glow that’s perfect for summer, especially when I’m only wearing tinted sunscreen on top.

Dior Sauvage – James Jacinto, Multimedia Artist

I got introduced to Dior Sauvage recently, and it honestly surprised me—in the best way. It’s sharp, clean, and leaves a lasting impression without being overpowering. Definitely one of those scents that makes you feel put-together with a few spritzes.

LUSH Let the Good Times Roll Body Spray – Nica Glorioso, Features & Pop Culture Writer

I’ve started to shy away from gourmand scents because they’re just too sweet, but I’ve wanted to try LUSH’s Let the Good Times Roll body spray forever! I hunted for it every time I traveled, and finally found it—and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a really sweet caramel, vanilla-esque, buttery popcorn-like scent that isn’t insanely sickening or anything!

Rom&nd Juicy Lasting Tint – Gelo Quijencio, Multimedia Artist

The cult-favorite juicy lasting tint had a fresher and improved look and formula. It’s more hydrating, the pigment is top-tier, shinier, and longer-lasting finish. I first experienced the new formula during their pop event at SM Makati, The Juicy Market, where it was filled with fun activities, curation, and even a swatch party. My favorite among the new shades will probably be Peach Peach Me and the classic Bare Grape!

205 Scentsmith Perfumery in Orange Cardamom – Ponce Mercado, Creative Production Associate

The summer heat has been quite unbearable lately, and not all scents are brave enough to take it on. Thankfully, this Eau de Parfum bottle from Scentsmith has been a go-to! It’s a refreshing and sharp take on the tropical fruit that’s built to the beat. Plus, despite being one of the more affordable picks in my perfume collection, its longevity is strong – it can last me the whole day!

Vaseline Gluta-Hya SPF 50 – Raf Bautista, Deputy Editor

Having it be inspired by The White Lotus got my attention, but this is the real deal. It feels light on the skin but still offers the kind of long-lasting protection I look for in the summer season. Consider this tropical-weather approved.

NYLON Manila Picks: The Pieces That Got Us Out Of A Style Slump In April 2025

line
Break free from boredom.

If your wardrobe’s feeling flat, these are the items that got us back on track in April.

Related: Office Style 101 With Candice Dela Cruz

Getting dressed hasn’t exactly been inspiring lately. Between the moodiest weather, packed schedules, and that weird in-between season vibe, falling into a style slump was kind of inevitable. You know the feeling: staring at your closet for way too long, trying on five different outfits, and still ending up in the same hoodie you’ve worn all week. No shame—we’ve all been there.

This April, the NYLON Manila team decided it was time for a change. So, we put together a curated list of pieces that helped reignite our excitement for fashion. From a bold bag that made every outfit feel more intentional to a pair of shoes that took even the simplest looks to the next level, these picks brought fresh energy to our wardrobes (and our moods).

2NE1 × FRGMT Musinsa Drop – James Jacinto, Multimedia Artist

Collabing with a prominent Japanese streetwear designer… and for merch? Peak fan service at its finest! The 2NE1 × FRGMT MUSINSA drop is everything I would expect from a legendary group known for its presence not in music alone, but in fashion as well.

That bomber jacket? The hoodie? Already shipping as we speak.

adidas Superstar II – Precy Tan, Copywriter

I’ve always been drawn to adidas Originals because they’re more than sneakers; they’re cultural icons. The Superstar II, in particular, feels like a staple that’s seen it all: music videos, skate parks, school halls. There’s something nostalgic yet timeless about slipping into a pair that generations have made their own—it’s like stepping into a legacy and making it yours.

Charles & Keith Silver Metallic Crossover-Strap Mary Janes – Gelo Quijencio, Multimedia Artist

I’ve been wanting to have a silver Mary Janes and I finally found it. It’s a perfect statement with an edgy touch yet a classic piece. I’ve been wearing it since the day I bought it and so far it’s comfortable — talk about comfort and style.

Gentle Monster X G-DRAGON – Raf Bautista, Deputy Editor

If you think about it, it just makes sense for Gentle Monster to collab with G-DRAGON. The specs look so unique and something only GD could rock. While the glasses aren’t for sale, this collab is yet another example that no one does it quite like G-DRAGON when it comes to style.

Longchamp Le Pliage (Size L) – Nica Glorioso, Features & Pop Culture Writer

I travel now and then, and I bring the Longchamp Le Pliage Large (with the long straps) as my carry-on tote with me everywhere. And every single time, I am reminded how useful, roomy, cute, and easy to lug around it is! I also recently knocked it into a sink with an automatic faucet in an airport, and it got soaked, but the inside remained DRY. It also dried very quickly under the drier.

Beyond being a travel essential though, the Le Pliage is also my work bag—it legitimately fits everything I need and throw in it, with room to spare. I can’t praise this bag enough (I have 3…). There’s a reason it’s become a classic for all generations across the world!

SJ Lifestyle Ibiza Sneakers in Light Grey – Precy Tan, Copywriter

I love the SJ Lifestyle Ibiza Sneakers in Light Grey because they’re the perfect blend of comfort and style—so trendy, it’s like they were plucked straight from Pinterest. Not only do they look good, but they’re also eco-friendly, with 60% energy return and recycled insoles and laces. Whether I’m out exploring during the day or hitting the vibrant nightlife, these sneakers are the perfect fit for my active, eco-conscious lifestyle.

Fashion’s New Favorite Muse? Filipino Content Creators

Going viral in designer. 💅

Their marketing teams deserve their flowers for that.

As the Philippines continues to grow its place and influence in the global fashion scene, noted Filipino personalities are increasingly having a bigger presence some of the biggest fashion markets in the world. Icons like Heart Evangelista and Pia Wurtzbach are becoming mainstays of Fashion Week, often attending the biggest shows of each season. Meanwhile, A-list stars like Nadine Lustre, Liza Soberano, and Anne Curtis have been invited by international fashion brands to attend events.

Another aspect of Filipino culture that the global fashion industry has been tapping into these days is the use of Filipino content creators. And we aren’t just talking about fashion and beauty content creators flown overseas for brand trips. We’re talking about creators who aren’t known as fashion influencers yet work with luxury brands and designers to promote their products or participate in campaigns.

Call it Pinoy baiting if you want, but at least these high-end brands are tapping into the cultural zeitgeist and giving local creators, some of whom you wouldn’t normally expect to rock designer threads, a spotlight. It gets people talking, and isn’t that the whole point of marketing? Check out the unexpected but welcome crossovers between Filipino TikTok creators and international designer brands below.

Yu Jenner is known for their stunning makeshift gowns made out of curtains and bedsheets. Their videos showing the designs have racked up millions of views on TikTok, and they even caught Loewe’s attention. The Spanish luxury fashion brand partnered with the young creative by sending over a white lace trapeze maxi dress with a hand-twisted scarf collar to the 17-year-old designer to wear. Oh, and it’s also the same gown actress Greta Lee wore to the 2024 Emmys. Completing the look with Toy Pumps, Yu Jenner stunned in head-to-toe Loewe. Going from making DIY gowns in your living room to wearing couture is the kind of fantasy fulfillment we aspire to have.

The content creator, whose real name is Ryniel Pineda, really is serving on the job. And speaking of serving, that’s exactly what he did when French fashion brand Jacquemus tapped him to promote their La Croisiere show earlier this year.

In a video posted on the brand’s TikTok page, Ryniel dances while an announcement poster for the show is seen on the wall and a Jacquemus Turismo bag is on the floor. You know what Jacquemus, you kinda ate with that, and we hope you let Ryniel keep the bag.

five year plan

I Didn’t Follow My Five-Year Plan. Now That I’m Graduating, I’m So Glad I Didn’t

line
Trust me, it's going to make sense at the end.

Many of us have goals and dreams that we want to achieve by the time we graduate. But what happens when that isn’t the case? It’s not the end of the world, that’s for sure.

Related: So, You Just Graduated From College. Now What?

I love having a sense of order. From choosing what I’ll wear the night before to setting goals for the day, I thrive when I have structure. Perhaps that’s why I’ve always gravitated towards the idea of a five-year plan. When I was in high school, every year, we would be asked, “Where do you see yourself in five years?”. While some of my classmates dreaded thinking about the future, I was always so excited to think about it. Maybe it’s just the optimist in me, but I always treated it as an opportunity to envision my dream life. With some minor adjustments, my answer remained the same throughout the years.

Parts of my five-year plan included taking up Theatre Arts as my college major and going to live in New York City. Call me delulu, but I was very ambitious in high school and was set on doing all that on schedule. I was never the late type, so it makes sense for me to achieve all my dreams. So, what could have stopped me from achieving that? Well, me.

SOMETHING SHIFTED

via GIPHY

A five-year plan may include everything you want to have and achieve, but it doesn’t include the changes you’ll go through in that time. During my college applications, I fell out of love with theatre. There was just no way I was going to subject myself to something I didn’t want to do anymore. What was I going to do now? I ended up choosing Communication Arts as my course. While still a rather creative course, I did not consider pursuing it at all before this. Choosing this was not a part of the plan, but I still had all the other parts of my five-year plan, right?

As I started going through college, so much about me changed. As a small-school girlie, it was the first time I truly met new people that I never grew up with when I was on campus. I was faced with and experienced a bunch of new people, subjects, and a whole new culture. Admittedly, I was scared, but I knew it was a necessary thing for me to go through. College truly was the time for me to realize a shift was happening. I found myself exploring new interests through my course, opening my mind up, and being challenged by what life had to offer as a young adult.

So, if I wasn’t going to do theatre anymore, New York was still on the map, right? Sort of. As I went through college, I found myself decolonizing a lot. I grew up with the American Dream instilled into my brain from watching movies and TV shows that glorified it. Going through college made me realize the importance of staying home. As my worldview developed, I loved the country I called home even more.

New York is still on my mind as one of my dream destinations, but I have planted my feet firmly on the Pearl of the Orient. Plus, I don’t think I realized how much it would cost. I mean, it’s not my fault that the movies make it look so easy to go there. My wallet is definitely thanking me for that. Plus, it’ll always be there if one day I gather up the money and find the right time to go.

DITCHING THE HANDBOOK

via GIPHY

So, what was left? Honestly, nothing. If my 17-year-old self could see where I am now, she’d probably be confused (and maybe a bit mad). Why wasn’t I on schedule? I would tell her that time is a concept and that I’m genuinely fulfilled with what my life has become. As I approach my graduation (and the end of the five-year plan I wrote in my senior year), I can’t help but be grateful that I went completely off-script.

Had I forced myself to remain in that box, perhaps my relationship with my goals would’ve been a little messy. Setting these standards for myself was ambitious, but in retrospect, it was more of a fantasy than anything. I felt a weird underlying pressure to stay on track because I valued that part of me. I always felt a sense of dread when I strayed from my path in the past. I would get uncomfortable thinking of doing something different because of how unfamiliar it felt. That thought process would have set me up for failure in the long run because, as a human, I was bound to change. And who was I to deny myself of my humanity?

Without doing so, I would’ve never discovered my love for writing. Ditching this predetermined idea of who I was meant to be allowed me to take hold of my life, and I’m ready to keep going after I get that degree. If I find myself leaning towards another direction as I continue to grow, I know that I don’t have to be afraid of that feeling. I am allowed to change my goals and to evolve. The next time someone asks me, “Where do you see yourself in five years?” I would say I don’t know, but I do know that I’ll find what’s right for me.

This Is What Andres Muhlach Looks Like When He’s Locked In

He had his eyes on the prize.

In the newest episode of Dare-Z, Andres Muhlach was told of the leaderboard among our past cover stars and said “bet”.

From the outside looking in, one can have a lot of ideas about who they think Andres Muhlach is. From his last name to his background, people can already form their opinions of Andres even before meeting him. But the Gen Z actor is more than just stereotypes or assumptions. He’s a young man making moves as he embarks on a major career path, which so happens to be acting. Like many people his age, Andres finds himself taking on and experiencing different opportunities as he carves his path that resonates with him.

There’s a lot to see and do at this stage of your life, which is why we felt Andres made a great cover star for our New Beginnings Issue. Aside from being one of the most in-demand young personalities of 2025, Andres has also been meeting the moment as he navigates what’s out there. Getting to work with him up close and personal also showed us that there’s a lot more to Andres than meets the eye.

ANDRES UP CLOSE

The moment Andres Muhlach walked into the studio for the shoot last March, he gave off the aura of a nonchalant but excited young man ready to do his job. Mayabang and intimidating who? We don’t know them. “Working with Andres in this issue is truly an honor,” shares Gelo Quijencio, NYLON Manila’s multimedia artist, who served as the shoot’s art director. “His warm and charming demeanor made the shoot fun and easy. Plus points for his top-tier music taste, since the team asked him what songs he would like to play during the shoot aka the DJ of the day.”

Andres is one of the most memorable cover stars we have worked with yet for how cool and casual he was with the whole team. Not only was he nice, thanking each team member as he left the studio, but he also loosened up. Don’t let his shy demeanor fool you, Andres has rhythm and knows how to catch a beat.

“Working with Andres was such a vibe,” says Nica Glorioso, our resident features and pop culture writer who can lowkey brag that Andres played her his single, Ikaw Ang Miss Universe Ng Buhay Ko, before it was officially released. “He was charming, lighthearted, and so down for anything. (He also immediately clocked how I was dressed like Keifer from ‘Ang Mutya ng Section E’ and how the whole team channeled the Section E outfit vibes). Loved seeing him get more relaxed and comfortable as the shoot went on, and you can see just how well the photos turned out, whether he was showing his cool side or his fun side! You could tell he was having fun, too, which made the whole team feel great because it really felt like we were working so well with him.”

He was a pleasant surprise throughout the entire shoot, and that was no more visible than during his episode of Dare-Z.

THE COMPETITIVE AF VARIANT

ICYDK, Dare-Z (pronounced darez) is our online series featuring our cover stars who are tasked with popping ten balloons in the shortest time possible while having to either answer a question or do a dare in each balloon. Their time would then be recorded and ranked on a leaderboard. When we told Andres that he would be timed and ranked, he locked in on a different level.

As a fan of sports such as basketball and golf, Andres is no stranger to competition, and his competitive side jumped out during the shoot. He was ready to snatch that top leaderboard position like it was nobody’s business, and the team cheered him on for that. “His competitive spirit during Dare-Z is unmatched,” voices Gelo. It’s a similar sentiment for Nica, who comments, “When his competitive side came out during Dare-Z, his energy was unmatched, and the entire room lit up right there with him.” Andres wanted to win, and as he should.

SB19’s Epic ‘DUNGKA!’ Music Video Was Packed AF—And We’re Here For It

line
The budget is budgeting.

If there’s one thing we can count on SB19 for, it’s to make an epic music video with a deeper social meaning.

Some of us are probably still not over the fact that a new SB19 album is here, and we understand. Simula at Wakas serves as the finale of a trilogy the group began in 2021, and if you were there during Pagsibol’s release, seeing the trilogy come to an end is a moment to remember in the group’s history.

There are a total of seven new tracks to enjoy on the EP, and among them is the experimental banger DUNGKA!. The track is loud af, but in a good way as it embraces maximalist production with rave and hyper-pop elements. We’d argue it’s one of the standout tracks on the album, and it’s made even better by the fact that we got a surprise music video for it.

STAR-STUDDED, BUT FOR A CAUSE

Directed by Kerbs Balagtas of YouMeUs MNL, the music video takes SB19 to the heart of Manila’s urban streets and corners. More than just an aesthetic choice, it’s a tribute to individuality, community, and the unfiltered beauty of everyday life, where people of diverse classes and backgrounds come together to raise their voices and stand up for something bigger than themselves. The setting serves as a backdrop and reflection of the song, an anthem for diversity and self-expression.

“Our idea was to highlight our group’s diversity and showcase each member’s unique personality. From there, it grew into something bigger, bringing in people from all walks of life to reflect the extraordinariness in our differences,” said the group in a statement.

Helping send that message was a cast of artists and personalities that make up SB19’s most star-studded music video to date. But since this is SB19 we’re talking about, their inclusion isn’t just for clout, but with intentionality as part of the need for collective action by the people that begins on the streets.

“We brought in artists and personalities who we felt matched the spirit of what we wanted to say,” SB19 added. “They’re people who also want to speak up, who want change, who want to be part of a movement that challenges a flawed system. We also wanted to share that power, that message, with everyone: that movements and revolutions aren’t just for celebrities or people in certain positions. No matter who you are or where you’re from, you can take part in change. That’s really the heart of the idea.” SB19 said stand up for what’s right and we love to see it.

ICYMI, check out the cameos we spotted in the DUNGKA! music video below.

GHOST WRECKER

GHOST WRECKER

The music video begins with an appearance from popular content creator Ghost Wrecker enjoying his meal and scaring people on the streets. He plays the MV’s antagonist as the representation of crab mentality (hence his meals of crabs at the start of the video).

KWEEN YASMIN

KWEEN YASMIN

The diva herself, Kween Yasmin is seen among a group of protesters recreating her iconic meme to Justin while holding a container of mango graham.

MALUPITON

MALUPITON

Content creator Malupiton, who you may know from his viral skits, shares a scene with Pablo outside a sari-sari store (famous dila included).

SHEHYEE AND SMUGGLAZ

SHEHYEE AND SMUGGLAZ

Josh and Pablo have a rap battle on the streets with rappers Shehyee and Smugglaz as the hosts.

ALODIA GOSIENGFIAO

ALODIA

Alodia serves Tekken character realness when she teleports from the arcade cabinet to the streets to join Josh and the others in the protest. Fun fact: it was Josh who invited Alodia to be part of the music video.

MIMIYUUUH

MIMIYUUUH

In a quick but fun scene, we see Mimiyuuuh drink from a glass of water before Justin beckons her to come outside to join them. Even in the middle of a protest, Mimiyuuuh is out here reminding you to drink your water.

PAT LASATEN AND AGNES REOMA

Musicians, Ben&Ben band members, and IRL couple Pat and Agnes take a break from their music-making to join the protest.

MAYMAY ENTRATA

MAYMAY ENTRATA

Maymay is seen dancing and doing karaoke with Stell on the sidewalk, because what’s more Filipino than that? And peep the women behind them, who will be familiar to any A’TIN (most of the SB19 moms also appear earlier in the MV as the zumba ladies dancing on the street).

SASSA GURL

SASSA GURL

Our mima Sassa Gurl came through to show the girls how to slay Chinese Garter, and in heels no less.

JAYAT

JAYAT

Fake Stell is played by none other than content creator, gamer, and streamer Jayat.

VICE GANDA

VICE GANDA

Ok mother! In the last major cameo in the music video, Vice Ganda struts her way down the street as people cheer her on, as it should be. Always here for Vice x SB19 crumbs.
